question

I received mine yesterday. I wrote around 25 GB of data on it. But the flash drive was considerably hot. Does it generate a lot of heat when writing such volumes of data?
Asked by: Ravindra
As it is such a small drive, writing to it such a large file can cause the drive to heat up a bit. Try transferring smaller size files and see how that goes. This flash drive is not specified as waterproof. There are however several offered by Tera on the B&H website. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1471428-REG/tera_grand_sp_u3j80_64gb_silicon_power_usb_3_0.html

question

What's the actual write speed?
Asked by: Anonymous
I bought the SanDisk 256GB Ultra Flair USB 3.0 Flash Drive in July. The actual write speed when copying large files is between 15 and 17MB/s. The read speed is impressive though.

If I copy pictures from my PC can an editor see those pictures on his Mac?
Asked by: Beth
My understanding is that if you format it to FAT32, you can use it to move files between Linux, Mac, and Windows. FAT32 does however have a file size limit of 4 GB. This shouldn't be a problem for photos, but it might for very large video files. YMMV See https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmanager/fat32-partition-size-limit.html
