I fine the filter has a blue tint that I can see in my photos. Leica should review this product considering it has it's name on it.

Probably overkill

I almost always use lower cost, but excellent quality Heliopan products on my Leica lenses, but splurged on this one for my new Leica Q2. It is very well made and I assume the glass is of the highest quality.

Sticking with ONE maker as much as I can.

When I have a Tiffen filter on a Sigma lens on a Canon body, and don't like the image, one of the companies will always blame one of the other two. I keep it all Leica so that nothing can go wrong. Yes B+W may be better, but is it? At least with Leica everything if I have a concern it'll be with Leica. Good peace of mind.

High quality filter. One could argue that putting any filter in front of a Leica lens is a crime, but filters preserve the resale value of the lens. This is the one if you are going to use a filter.

Great for my Leica Q2

No sense in putting crappy glass ahead of great glass on my Q2 so I got the Leica filter and am very happy with it.

question

Why is the 13037 replacement for 13373? Better quality than 13373?
Asked by: Alexsei
While Leica Germany is not specific on the details regarding the differences between the filters, Leica does simply state that they have improved all optical parameters of the filter, which infers that our current (newer) II filter's glass and optical coatings would be of higher quality compared to their older (discontinued) original version.

question

Will this work with the supplied hood in the Summicron 35mm Lens? Thanks.
Asked by: Hernn R.
If you are referring to the newest edition of the Summicron 35mm, the answer is yes. The filter sits inside of where the hood slides onto the outside of the lens. I have the lens in silver and got the filter in silver as well, and they look great together.

question

What does the E in E82 mean? Will this fit any standard 82mm front threaded lens or is it Leica specific?
Asked by: Jordan B.
No, this is not Leica specific. The E or is standard nomenclature for filters sized in millimeters (E82 = 82mm). The filter should thread perfectly.
