Optimized for the Sony FS5 and FS5M2 cameras, this Shoulder Mount Kit from SHAPE will make a great camera even better by providing an ergonomic solution to run-and-gun shooting. It features a dedicated baseplate with 18" 15mm rods which will mount the quick handle, the mini composite shoulder pad, and back pad with ease, as well as other assorted accessories. The baseplate also sports rubber pads to cushion the camera, and the system has tripod mounting threads on the base. Additionally, the rig is constructed from CNC Machined aluminum and features several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for mounting devices.

Does the kit come with the extension arm to attach the zoom controller?
The SHAPE Shoulder Mount Kit for Sony FS5/FS5M2 (BH #SHFS5SM • MFR #FS5SM) does not include an extension arm to attach the zoom controller but you can get the separately available SHAPE Remote Extension Handle for Sony FS5/FS5M2 Camera (BH #SHFS5RH • MFR #FS5RH) and attach it to the right side of the shoulder mount by removing one of the rubber hand grips.

Will this shoulder mount work with the shape vct plate?
Hello Jay, Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, the baseplate in this rig will not fit onto our VCT plate. However it has threaded holes underneath, to attach a tripod quick release plate. Is it possible to use the baseplate with a tripod with the assistance of a quick release plate and which would be the best to use with this rig?
Hello Jay, Thank you for your question! Indeed it is possible. You can easily attach any tripod quick release plate underneath all of our baseplates. Indeed you can attach your tripod plate underneath the main baseplate of our unit and leave it there at all times given the threaded holes underneath the main baseplate. I purchased this shoulder rig but its too front heavy to use comfortably. Does Shape have a solution for adding weight at the back to balance the weight?
