Aputure A.Lav Overview

The A.Lav from Aputure is a professional omnidirectional lavalier microphone with a built-in lithium battery that is compatible with devices using a 1/8" (3.5mm) TRRS connector, such as mobile phones, tablets, cameras, and recorders. It can be utilized in several recording environments to capture audio for lectures, voiceovers, public speaking events, sermons, presentations, and more.

The microphone comes with a 10' anti-winding cable that is Kevlar-reinforced. It is made of OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) and covered with a silicone jacket to prevent knotting issues. Also included are two recording adapter cables, a USB charging cable, a foam windscreen and windshield, a mic clip, duct tape for taping the mic anywhere, a cable winder, and a portable travel case. Furthermore, the multifunctional indicator of A.Lav keeps you informed of the power status with a green & red light display. While charging, a red light comes on, going off when fully-charged. The green light indicates normal working state.

Finally, the A.Lav microphone offers precise and stable reference power for delivering broadcast quality audio in almost any scenario. It is clean, bright, yet natural sounding.

Hi, I purchased this but lost the "Recording Adapter Cable for Recorder" - the connection which goes into my camera - can you please let me know the specs for this cable so I can buy a replacement? Is it TRS to TRRS?

Yes, the Recorder Adapter cable is TRS to TRRS (The Mobile Cable is TRRS to TRRS). We have the Rode SC7 available.

question

Can a different stereo microphone be used with the powered adaptor piece? I would like to use a Rode NT4 with my iPad and wondering if this will work?
Asked by: Anonymous
The connectors given in that Aputure kit do not supply the correct cable to work with an ipad. There is an xlr to 1/8 cable that came with the Rode NT4. With that, you could use this adapter ROSC4 to work with an iPad or an iPhone.

question

how long is the manufacturer's warranty ?
Asked by: Jesus V.
Aputure guarantees it's products free of manufacturer defects for up to 1 year. As an alternative, you may consider the squaretrade protection plan for either 2 or 3 years total time, giving you coverage against normal wear and tear, and accidental damage from handling.

What IOS app do you use to record and have the monitoring capabilities?
Asked by: Anonymous
If you have an iPhone, you record directly in the Camera app when you set it to video. (Then you can use the iMovie app and import the video you shoot.)

question

Is there a brand of transmitter that would work with the a.lav mic?
Asked by: Mica P.
The Aputure A.Lav Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is designed to be used with mobile phones, not wireless transmitters. Given the difference in wiring between this mic and the various transmitters in the marketplace, it would be best to purchase a complete wireless system that includes a lavalier mic.

question

Can this Mic work of it is plugged into a Polsen ULW-16 body pack transmitter?
Asked by: Sikeela
Though the physical connector on the ULW-16 and A.Lav are both 3.5mm, the wiring between the two differ. For this reason, compatibility is highly unlikely. When searching for replacement mics for the ULW-16, it is necessary to ensure the wiring on the mic is TS . Currently, B&H offers the PL-4 and PL-5; B&H# POPL4 and POPL5.
