The Envoy Pro USB 3.0 Enclosure from Other World Computing is an external enclosure that is designed to house the original SSD found in select 13" and 15" MacBook Pro Retina (Mid 2012 to Early 2013) models as well as 21.5" and 27" iMac (Late 2012 to Early 2013) systems. What is the drive pin configuration of this enclosure?

Unfortunately the ssd I need to copy from is not in the dead macbook. Perhaps its from May 2016, don't know display, pro, processor, etc. The drive has a 12 / 16 pin config. Samsung model MZ-JPV256R/0A2 256GB SSUBX 655-1858J *DN162240DS7GTXNAE* MSIP-REM-SEC-MZ-JPV512R 2016.05 Is this or another available caddy correct?

Does this enclose accept the original Apple SSD drive from the Mac Pro 2013? The SSD comes with a thermal pad which cannot be removed ...

You must open the case, carefully because the plastic of the led falls down, and then you just insert your ssd hard disk drive, its only one way to put it in.

No, this is specifically made for the Apple SSD. An M2 SSD has completely different pinouts.
