Designed with specific models in mind, the Nikon Action/Action EX/Marine Series Binocular Tripod Adaptor allows you to easily mount them, or any other binocular with a 1/4"-20 threaded socket, onto a photo/video/field tripod for hands-free use. The configuration of the adapter makes it ideal for Porro prism models, with a large knob for easy installation and removal. The base of the adapter has a 1/4"-20 mount to be compatible with a wide variety of support systems including tripods, monopods, and window mounts. Using your binoculars, especially high-power ones or those with large objective lenses, helps to steady the view, reduce vibrations, and eliminate arm fatigue.

Improving the Mount
To me, the mounting screw is installed backwards! The thin rubber washer can be removed, and the screw and bushing reversed. This way the binoculars will balance better on the tripod and the tripod and binoculars can be placed closer to you for better comfort
Steady as you go
Easily adapts your Nikon binoculars to a tri pod mount. Just remove the plastic threaded cap from the front and attach the mount. It does not interfere with normal viewing and is there if you need to steady your viewing.
Larry bought for Nikon Aculon Binoculars non zoom
After reading all the reviews for this mount I was not expecting a whole lot. After receiving It, I was pleasantly surprised, it fit very nice, I mounted it on my tripod first and then to the binoculars, making sure the weight was centered over the bracket and centered on the tripod. I tightened the knob very carefully and snug it up with medium torque, paying attention to others who said it did not stay tight, or they were afraid of over tightening. We bird watch with this setup and we are very pleased. Please note the tripod is not a cheap one, it has very nice controls up and down and left and right with nice tilt. I think that might make a difference, we dont really touch the binoculars. So with all that in mind, was well worth the money. Ps also dont take of and on alot
NIKON QUALITY ADAPTOR
WELL MADE AND WORKS GREAT WITH MY TRIPOD AND BINOCULARS
Easy to use.
I put it on my Nikon 12x50 binoculars. It works great. I just left it on the binoculars. Only issue I wish you could flip it the other direction. Oh well.
Very pleased with the TRA-2
This is the Nikon TRA-2 even though B&H doesn't call it by that designation. I found it very easy to install and use. It is lightweight and very steady. Of course a lot depends on what tripod you attach it to. I am using it with Nikon Aculon A211 10x50 binoculars mounted to my video tripod, a Manfrotto 755B base with a Manfrotto 3433 head. I am extremely well pleased with the results I am getting
Great binocular tripod adapter
This has worked great thus far
It's too short
The biggest problem with this adapter and the Action EX porro prism binoculars (with 50mm objectives) is the lack of height. That's not a problem if you eyes are wide set. The narrower your eye's (interpupillary distance), the lower the tubes on the binoculars drop as you squeeze them together. At the narrow end, with the tubes close together, they sit at or below the plane of where this adaptor screws on to a tripod plate. So...when the tubes hit that plate or the rest of your tripod head, you won't be able to squeeze the binoculars together to fit you eyes. This happens somewhere around 62mm interpupillary on the 16x50 binos. Anything less than that and you can forget about it. You will need to put a spacer between your tripod plate and the bottom of this Nikon adapter, and use longer screws to connect. In addition, as others have mentioned, the screw attachment to your binoculars at the top of the adaptor is not the most robust. Better be gentle.
