Nikon 27162 reviews

BS-3 Accessory Shoe Cover for Select Nikon DSLR Cameras is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top of the line Accessory Shoe cover. When I ordered it, I was not sure exactly what the difference was between this expensive cover and the cheaper plastic cover which came with the Nikon d300s. Although still a shoe cover in the end, this is a very refined item. (1) It covers all the metal of the shoe, not just the electrical contacts in the middle as the simpler cover does. (2) It is composed of two different parts, metal clips to slide it onto the rails of the shoe, and a rubberized top layer which feels soft to the hand. Hey, this level of sophistication costs more, but I thought my new Nikon d500 deserved it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good protection against rain and snow. I watched a Youtube review testing the weather resistance of the Nikon D850 by showering it with a garden hose to simulate a downpour. The camera did very well and survived, but the test exposed one vulnerability as a little water was detected inside the view finder. The tester deduced that the water entered through the hotshoe, hence my decision to purchase this. The BS-3 is comprised of two parts. Underneath is hard plastic that slides into the shoe. The top part (what you see in the product photo) is rubber and wide enough to cover the entire hotshoe. As far as I know the BS-3 provides the best coverage and protection against the elements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well D810 and D500 These fit well on both of these cameras. i had originally ordered the cheaper $2.00 shoe covers, but wanted something a bit more protective. This works great. The only downside is that they're rubber and do not allow my to 'slip' my camera into a pouch easily. The upside is that they're rubber and don't 'slip' well in general. Once on, they're a tight fit on the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Neat Hot Shoe Cover For Your D500 A perfect hot shoe cover for the Nikon D500. Note, that thought this fits other Nikon cameras such as the D300s it does prevent that camera's built in flash door from fully opening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protection for D500 shoe too. While Nikon includes this protection on the D5, they do not for the D500. Rather than whine about it, I just purchased it. Works just like on the D5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great fit. Some Nikon models, for an unknown reason, come without a hot shoe cover. The open shoe can snag on your camera bag and may attract unwanted dirt and damage. I ordered the BS-3 for a D500. The product provides a snug fit and matches the lines of the camera. A well made product that I will highly recommend.
