Nikon D500 Reviews
Best wildlife camera available
The D500 with its 10 fps shutter, optical viewfinder, 100 shot RAW buffer, and great auto focus is a great option for wildlife. I shoot mostly birds and appreciate the "crop factor" even though I know it's mainly an optical "illusion" over full frame. It is ruggedly built and weather resistant.
Great for wildlife photography
I upgraded from a NikonD5300 so of course this will seem a lot better. But it is better than expected especially for the price. Using the same lens on my D5300 and this camera, there is a massive improvement for what fits in the frame and clarity. I use it for wildlife photography, mostly birds, and this camera is so quick it catches the birds so well in flight and doing quick movements. The larger range in ISO is also really fun to play with.
Industry standard for sports photography
The Nikon D500 has been a sports photography workhorse for awhile but still beats out newer models for features related to action photography. This is actually my second exact same body so I can shoot with two cameras at various sporting events.
as good as it gets
The Cat's meow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it
Autofocus is spot on and fast. 10fps is awesome too, I don't think you can beat this camera at the price point.
Huge step up from D3300
I love this thing. No more silly settings for absolute beginners like my D3300. Tons of customizable settings & buttons. The 10 fps is awesome. Auto focus is awesome. It's still a great camera in 2022.
Continuous lock ups
Within the first 20 photos my camera locked up during use, not responding to any button presses and unable to be turned off unless the battery was removed. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I brushed it off. Well now it occurs every time I use this new body, I have under 200 shots and it locks up every 20-30 shots requiring battery removal... I'm using supported memory cards of both model types and tried multiple cards. I've tried multiple lenses, multiple batteries, and with and without a battery grip and the issues persist. Sometimes I get an ERR message and sometimes not, looks like I got a $1,600 paperweight and will have to continue using my old d7200 for DX and d750 for FX.....
Nikon D 500
Very versatile camera. Lots of features.
