The Vizelex Pro ND Throttle Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF- and EF-S-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera from FotodioX allows a Canon EF- and EF-S-mount lens to be used with a Sony E-mount camera and features a built-in, variable neutral-density filter. This filter has a 2 to 1,000x filter factor that provides a 1 to 10 stop exposure reduction. While recording video with a CCD or CMOS camera, this adapter's variable neutral-density filter can help maintain proper exposure by compensating for increased light levels after widening an installed camera lens's iris to obtain a narrower depth-of-field.

This Vizelex Pro ND Throttle Lens Mount Adapter's variable neutral-density filter can also be applied to still photography. Its 0.3 to 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing wider aperture or slower shutter speed settings than otherwise normally possible. By adjusting exposure times and apertures, depth-of-field can be controlled and movement more easily conveyed.

Electronic communication between an attached camera and lens is supported by this adapter. To control the amount of light that enters a Sony E-mount camera when using this adapter and a Canon EF- or EF-S -mount lens, an aperture-control ring is built into the Vizelex Pro ND Throttle Lens Mount Adapter. This control ring couples with the lens's aperture mechanism so that adjustments to depth-of-field, as well as brightness can be made.

This adapter is for APS-C sensors, or with a full frame sensor if used in crop mode (APS-C MODE). It can be used with both EF and EF-S lenses.

  • Allows a Canon EF- and EF-S-mount lens to be used with a Sony E-mount camera
  • Built-in variable neutral-density filter for recording video with a CCD or CMOS camera
  • Filter helps maintain proper exposure by compensating for increased light levels when adjusting camera lens iris for narrower depth-of-field
  • 0.3 to 3.0 built-in, variable neutral-density filter darkens the image, allowing photographs with longer shutter speeds or wider apertures than otherwise normally possible
  • Providing a 1 to 10 stop exposure reduction, the built-in filter offers increased depth-of-field control and movement can be more easily conveyed
  • Integrated, aperture-control ring
  • Attached lens can focus to infinity

Vizelex Pro ND Throttle Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF- and EF-S-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from it just works Using this on my a7rii in super 35 mode works great. Especially when you're in slog 2 shooting at iso 800. Although there is a slight color cast, that can be fixed easily in color correction and white balancing the image prior does most of the job in the shift towards neutral from being warm. I didn't get the notorious x pattern comparable to filter based vari nd. I do wish however there will be one for a full frame sensor just so it hits a bigger market for fotodiox.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unusable in FullFrame A7s Ultra-small Review of ND Ef-NEx Vizelex (Fotodiox)I want to contribute to the community to save you from my mistake. Now I'm refunding and losing 20 in order to my bad experience.(not with Bhp)No suitable for a7s. 1 Reason: Huge vignetting, in FullFrame Objectives, and also in my Pentax645 Objectives.2 Only usable in apsc mode, but it take me to the 3 reason: low quality of the image. You lost more than 1 stop all the time and lost in image quality.4. Not true Auto, not Focus, still F-stops, but not always. Not reliable for the price 216 in @.I believe should be good for very specific reasons, in a apsc camera and need to work in a desert, snow... But not really on need for the A7s if you mind to use the fullframe(in my opinion the best use of the Iso/lownoise potential of the camera)In comparison with the commlite, feels as same tough and high end. But in numers, commlite wons.Hope, this help and save you money and time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This adapter is junk This adapter is junk. Does not work on Canon EF lenses I have tried (Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, 2014, (not EF-S). I am using a Sony NEX FS100UK. Also I tried a SIGMA lens 18-35mm F1.8 and does not work aswell. Also, is almost imposible to attach the adapter to the lens, very poor and cheap design. I rented a Metabones adapters (EF-E mark IV) and works flawlessly. Do not waste your money and keep away from this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from garbage Didn't work with a single Canon lens I own on any Sony camera I own. I own the dumb version of this adapter and it works fine. Was excited to try a smart version. Very disappointed. I have bought a lot of Fotodiox gear over the years and they've been gradually ramping up quality of their products. But this one is a real stinker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WARNING: NOT Compatible with EF-S Product highlights depict adapter is compatible with EF-S lenses. That is NOT the case. False information. Adapter also leaves harsh darkened vignette on EF lenses 50mm and below. I am returning this product.

This is listed as a 1-10 stop ND filter. Does that mean that having it on cuts light by 1 stop at minimum, meaning I am bound to at least 1 stop of light reduction?
    Asked by: Abraham Y.
Yes, there will be a minimum of one stop of ND filtration.

I am looking for the throttle that allows me to also change the aperture on Canon EF L Lens and will using it with the A7sII, Which throttle do I need to buy? I see this one says it has an error in the title and does NOT work with Canon EF lens or does not communicate with the lens via the camera, correct? Have they introduced the throttle which does communicate with canon EF lens for the Sony A7sII E-mount and where can I find it. Thanks
    Asked by: Eric
The adapter is for Sony E mount APS-C sensor cameras not full frame. It will not work with the Sony A7sII body as that is full frame. It works with Canon EF not EF-S lenses. And it does transfer the electronics of the lens to the camera to work the autofocus and the aperture.

BHPhoto said in Overview that this Smart ND Throttle: Electronic communication between an attached camera and lens is not supported by this adapter. Fotodiox said: Since we introduced the ND Throttle a while back, we have been asked to make it possible for the camera to communicate electronically with the lens you've attached. SO WHICH ONE IS TRUE?
    Asked by: Gabriel Emelito P.
Hmmmmm... still not corrected 4 months later? If Fotodiox's site is accurate, I see what appears to be a lot of misinformation in several answers to questions. 1 EF-S lenses will NOT work with this adapter. 2 There will be vignetting if you try to use this full frame (like on an A7S) but not in crop mode (like an A7RII) 3 Not all EF lenses will work correctly, check the manufacturer for a list 4 10 Stops of ND is PLENTY to be effective! If you want a dumb adapter (no electronic aperture or focus control from camera) then look at the ND Throttle that is 1/2 the price of this one.

is it compatible with EF-S lenses? because from what i read Fotodiox mentioned that this adapter is compatible with EF lenses only, not EF-S lenses.
    Asked by: Dzhafiran D.
No it is not compatible with EF-S lenses. Also I have not been able to extensively test it yet but my early impressions are that there are not as many stops of ND that would make it really useful and the quality of the fit is not as good as a Metabones adapted. I also have some doubts about the effect of the filter on the picture quality, but I need to do more tests.
