Intel i3-6100 overview

  • 1Description

The Core i3-6100 Dual-Core LGA 1151 Processor from Intel has a base clock speed of 3.7 GHz and comes with features such as Intel Hyper-Threading technology. With Intel Hyper-Threading technology, the processor delivers two processing threads per physical core. Additionally, this processor features two cores with four threads in a FCLGA1151 socket and has 3MB of Intel Smart Cache memory. Having two cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the four threads allow applications to complete tasks sooner by working in parallel. This processor also supports up to 64GB of DDR4-1866/2133 and DDR3L-1333/1600 MHz RAM, has SSE4.1/4.2 & AVX 2.0 Extensions, as well as AES New Instructions, 14nm semiconductor technology, and a system bus of 8 GT/s. Graphically, the Core i3-6100 Dual-Core processor is powered by integrated Intel HD Graphics 530.

    Intel i3-6100 reviews

    Core i3-6100 3.7 GHz Dual-Core LGA 1151 Processor (Retail) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and cool Used this to build a budget gaming system (with EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB SC+ Gaming ACX 2.0 Graphics Card). Runs fast and cool on Prime95 stress test, and in all use cases so far. Great performance on full-HD Minecraft. Just using the stock cooler that comes with the CPU.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product I was upgrading an older desktop computer from late 2008, a Dell Inspiron 531s. I received the processor in new condition, the install went without a hitch. Now the computer is much faster and runs much better. The customer support team at B&H is also excellent. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Budget CPU for Gaming I bought this CPU for a budget gaming PC that I built for my Sister and it has done great so far. Has been able to handle everything that has been thrown at it so far. I would 100% buy another one of these CPUs if I were to build another budget PC build.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exceptional Skylake technology Right out of the box the computer seemed very responsive, my only complaint is that it does seem a little overpriced. Is very good for most gaming as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great so far It's very fast, I've had no problems running anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Budget gamer Paired this cpu with a gtx 960 and 8 gb of ram. I'm not a heavy AAA title gamer, but right now I'm playing Tomb Raider (2013) and World of Tanks. I have no problems running both of those titles on the highest available graphics settings. And everyday tasks like web surfing and document editing are nothing for this cpu. I have nothing negative to say about this cpu at all.
    Date published: 2016-06-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Difficult to know what to write about a standard CPU! It works well, the graphics work for VGA, DVI and HDMI and it runs pretty cool even under high processor load. I use it in a PC doing 3D CAD and the performance is good without any external graphics card. I would buy this again if I needed another CPU.
    Date published: 2018-05-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An oldey but a goodey Even though the i3 is getting a bit old, if you pair it with a newer graphics card and configure your PC accordingly, it should run just about everything fine. Would recommend, especially for those building on a budget.
