Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH. Overview

A bright wide-angle prime with consistent performance throughout the aperture range, the Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH. Lens is well-suited to reportage and environmental photography in a variety of working conditions. Aside from the wide perspective, this 28mm f/2 is also characterized by a sophisticated nine elements in six groups design, which incorporates a single aspherical element to control distortions and spherical aberrations throughout the focusing and aperture ranges. Bright f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions.

The front of the lens has 46mm-diameter threads to accept optional filters, and the lens is male threaded to accept the included lens hood.

How do I know that the lens is made in Portugal or Germany ? You are not stating this detail.
Asked by: Aldo
The Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH is made in Leica's Germany factory. Leica made some popular focal lengths in Portugal under different catalog #'s in 2020 when 25% tariffs were impose on the importation of lenses from Germany into the U.S. Leica did this to give consumers options on buying either ones made in Portugal or ones made in Germany. The lenses were identical in every way except for the price and where the COO was. These tariffs have since been lifted and currently, all Leica M lenses are manufactured in Germany.
