The CP7MO TT from Takamine is a Thermal Top Series acoustic/electric guitar with an orchestra-style body shape that features a solid thermal spruce top, solid ovangkol back and sides, a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, and an electronic preamp. The neck has a nut width of 45mm to accommodate a wide variety of playing styles. Before construction, the top wood is treated with high heat to modify the resins and sugars in the wood, which imparts a played-in vintage tone and feel that is surprising for a brand new instrument.
Additional appointments include grained ivoroid binding around the neck and body, a faux tortoise-shell pickguard, gold tuners, 3mm abalone dot inlay fingerboard markers, an abalone rosette, and an abalone "T" on the headstock. A natural gloss finish accentuates the grain patterns of the wood.
For electronics, the CPO7MO TT includes a TLD-2 Line Driver preamp that is designed to buffer the pickup and boosts the current of the signal to eliminate any degradation with long cables. The preamp is discreetly mounted within the output jack assembly and includes three tone-shaping controls which can be adjusted when the jack is extracted. Paired with the Takamine Palathetic undersaddle pickup, the system offers a warm and natural acoustic tone. A hardshell guitar case is also included.
