    Savage DS-007 reviews

Drop Stand Light Stand (7') is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Stand - Just a couple of wish items I really like the stand and love the fact that it can open and close on its own. I would like to see a simpler system for the tightening of the poles, this is just a preference. I did have an issue where the bottom of the stand got jammed into the collar and the opening and closing did not work as intended, took a few minutes to figure that part out. Finally, I would love to see a carrying bag come with it. Still nice and does as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Light Stand I just this light stand for a headshot section, it was really easy to set up and I just love the convenience of moving it around, just pick it up and drop it anywhere. It's not a heavy light stand but it's not light by any means. I will be buying another one to replace the light stand that came with my kit. The only gripe I have about it is that it does not come with a carrying case, but don't let that discourage you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this light stand! When I first saw this light stand I thought it was a great idea but did not get one. Then I saw a review and I was then even more interested. Long story short I had a need for another stand so I purchased this one. It is very well made and sturdy. I move around a lot while shooting so this stand is perfect as I can easily pick it up and quickly reset it. A must have for location shooters.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really like the product except breaks fast I ordered two of these stands in August 2016. I am a real estate photographer and love the idea of the legs folding up so easily since I am constantly moving my lights. They have been absolutely great to use for my purposes. The reason for the 2 stars is it is now November and one has already failed on me. The top tube assembly today became stuck as I was trying to collapse it down. It wouldn't budge about halfway into the tube. I was eventually able to pull it out but the whole top tube came out. It seems that the bottom cap that slides inside the tube actually became wedged inside the 2nd tube and that's what caused it to become stuck. In trying to get it apart, the bottom cap came off the top tube. I was able to at least take the top tube out to get it into my stand bag. It's still usable but not nearly as convenient. I also feel this stand is priced at a premium for the convenience it offers, which I don't mind paying for, but it should last more than 3 months. It seems that they have some re-design that is needed on the bottom cap to make this product truly a stand out work horse.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for grassy surfaces I purchased to use indoors and outdoors. Works well on hard surfaces, but has difficulty opening on grass. The lags will not slide through it and open completely. You have to place it on top of your shoe, press down to open and slide it onto the grass. Hard on shoes and a pain to remember the extra step.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So worth it! So easy to use when you're a wedding photographer working by yourself and carrying all your stuff. No need to worry about the light stand hitting anyones feet as your walking away with it. Works perfect with my speedlites. Would not use for anything heavier though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good. I was intrigued with this light stand when I first heard about it. It was a bit of a pain to always have to open and close the legs and on many light stands the sliding of the legs wasn't the easiest thing to do. That is what attracted me to this light stand. I was thinking that there would be no more moving it to another spot and getting it hung up on other things or on my own legs. Once I got it I tried it out and it worked great. When I put it down with the light on it the legs spread nicely and when I picked it up the legs closed up nicely. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the air cushioning made the lowering of the stand take longer than I would like. Other than that, it is all good.
