  • 1Description

With the EA7500 Max-Stream Dual-Band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router from Linksys you can set up and configure your wireless network in no time using the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi application or through a web browser. Simply plug in the router and connect it to your modem, sign up for a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account, and begin configuring your network settings such as wireless encryption, operating modes, drive management, and more.

The EA7500 comes equipped with three dual-band detachable antennas and operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. With support for the 802.11ac networking standard users can take advantage of a maximum data transfer rate of up to 1900 Mbps. The wireless signal emitted by this router is beamed directly to connected devices thanks to built-in beamforming technology providing a stronger, more reliable signal. Users also benefit from MU-MIMO (multiple user - multiple input multiple output) technology designed to handle multiple data streams simultaneously to ensure tasks such as online gaming and streaming multimedia content operate lag free.

If a wired connection is what you need, the EA7500 has you covered as it comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports. In addition to Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, you can also take advantage of a single USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port designed to support external storage drives formatted FAT, NTFS, and HFS+. Once a drive is connected users throughout the network can access content stored on that drive.

802.11ac MU-MIMO
The MAX-STREAM AC1900 Multi User-MIMO Router offers two dedicated Wi-Fi bands that deliver combined speeds of up to 1.9 Gbps. Users can manually assign high-bandwidth Wi-Fi activities such as 4K video streaming and online gaming to the high-speed 5 GHz band, while assigning older Wi-Fi devices and activities to the 2.4 GHz band.
MU-MIMO Technology
MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technology ensures uninterrupted simultaneous Wi-Fi connections to devices such as HD streaming media players, 4K TVs, tablets, and game consoles. Multiple devices receive high-speed Wi-Fi at the same time and same speed. Your family can access the Internet at the same time without experiencing lag or buffering--at up to 2x the speed of a non-MU-MIMO router.
Lag-Free Online Gaming via Powerful Processor
Take advantage of fast-paced Wi-Fi activities such as online multiplayer gaming with the MAX-STREAM AC1900. Powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, it is capable of handling three simultaneous data streams, delivering improved Wi-Fi performance and faster Wi-Fi speeds to more devices.
High-Speed Wired Connectivity with Gigabit Ethernet Ports
Connect more devices and share files at speeds 10x faster than Fast Ethernet with four Gigabit Ethernet ports. Connect a storage device and quickly transfer files or share devices such as printers across your Wi-Fi network using the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
Improved Wi-Fi Speed and Range with Beamforming
Direct Wi-Fi signals to each of your mobile devices to increase signal strength and coverage with the MAX-STREAM Wi-Fi router using Beamforming technology. Play video games, listen to music, check emails, shop online, stream HD movies, and more, without having to worry about dropped signals.

    Linksys EA7500 reviews

    EA7500 Max-Stream Dual-Band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 298.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Router, New look, New features! The new Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream deserves to be taken seriously with the antennas reaching 6-inches in length and its small form factor design. This router is packed with new features. Wi-Fi signal is rock solid and never had signal loss. Gaming and 4K streaming running without any issues. Cellphone app is rock solid and did I mention the setup is so easy like 2 minutes. I threw everything I could to this router gaming, video streaming, music streaming, and it never failed on me. One feature that could be added is bandwidth utilization. In conclusion, very easy set up, high Wi-Fi range, wall mountable, and very stable router. Its a must buy router. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not impressed I picked one of these up locally this morning to replace an aging 802.11n Apple Airport Extreme. I had high hopes, but the 2.4 band is not functional unless you're in the same room with the device. The range is easily twice that of my Apple router, but when you try to connect to the router on 2.4 ghz from outside the room it is in the device either won't connect at all, or in the case of my iPhone 7, show full signal strength and not pass any data. If you're not going to be using 2.4 ghz for anything, I'm sure its great. Unfortunately, more than half of my devices are 2.4 only. I guess I'll be returning this thing and switching back to my 4th gen Airport Extreme.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set-up & fast connections This router replaced an older one that was slower and had begun to fail intermittently (lose its link with the cable modem). Setting up the new router was easy -- no problems with either the 2.4 or 5 GHz bands. Connect speeds are excellent and so far there have been no drop-outs at all. Wireless coverage of a 3000 square-foot home has improved -- all rooms of the house are covered with good connection speeds. It also handles my ethernet, in conjunction with a Linksys 8-port switch -- no problems there either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream™ AC1900 MU-MIMO Gigabit Very easy to set up which I do appreciate very much as others have been a real pain. This one could not have been easier. What impressed me the most was the extended range it gave me a snow I have connectivity it my shop area in my basement that I never had before. Now I can use my tablet in my shop to get needed info when working on a project and not have to go to other areas of the house to be connected while needing that info in my shop area. I did see increase speeds but that was not as important to me as the increase coverage areas. This is a great unit and I'm very happy with it Norm [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good mid-end router This router performed slightly under a Netgear Nighthawk R8000 in terms of speed and range (disabling the 2nd 5 ghz network on the Nighthawk for a fair comparison). My multi-story brick house with large central brick chimneys is hard on wireless signals, so this EA7500 performed better than anything other than the Nighthawk has. This router has MU-MIMO, of which I had no compatible devices to test it with. Some of the first devices to make use of MU-MIMO will probably be cell phones released this year. So if you have multiple smart phone users who consume a lot of media on them, this might be a router up for consideration when upgrading.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great router for brick-building apartment I received the EA7500 router a week ago, and I setup it right after it is delivered. The setup process was extremely easy to follow, and the UI was simple and straightforward. However, the UI is a little bit too simple for advanced user like myself, and I would really appreciate if they could improve the functionality of wireless AP, since I tested it and couldn't make it work with another router of mine. In addition, there are moments when the router fails to connect to the Internet, it kept showing some DNS error when I tried to open a website, and I couldn't seem to debug this problem myself. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and powerfull Just installed this new product. First thing I noticed was how easy it was to setup and get running. Next I noticed that the dead spot in my house was no longer dead. Was completely accessible anywhere in my house. I threw out the extender I had used for so long. As for speed, I didn't notice any appreciable increase, but I never was having a problem with speed anyway. I installed the dashboard and can see my router any time and have some control over it. I see that I have 10 items connected to the router. No drop in speed. All of the connections are running fine. Great product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and Easy to Set Up This is my third Linksys router. The first one I gave to my parent in-laws when they finally decided to join the twentieth century five years ago. The second just could not handle the demands of my UHD smart TV but it was still going strong. I am very pleased with this router. Setup was quick and easy. I set the network name and password to match the previous router so I didn't have to change all of the wireless devices' configuration. This puppy easily handles streaming to the TV, phones, laptops and iPads all at the same time without breaking a sweat. When technological advances dictate that I upgrade my router, Linksys will be my first choice!
