Adding GPS capabilities to a versatile camera, the Ricoh G800SE Digital Camera with GP-1 GPS Module Kit from B&H includes the rugged camera and dedicated GPS receiver to form a well-rounded image-making device that is ideal for industrial, construction, medical, and surveying applications.

The G800SE features a 16MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensor along with a built-in 5x zoom lens that provides a useful 28-140mm equivalent focal length range for shooting stills or Full HD 1080p30 video in a variety of environments. The sensor affords notable sensitivity to ISO 25600 for working in low-light conditions, and digital image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake. Supporting the imaging capabilities, the G800SE is also characterized by its robust build that is shock-, water-, cold-, dust-, and chemical-resistant for working in a broad range of environments, and these durable designations are maintained even when the included GP-1 GPS Module is attached. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is available, for linking to mobile devices, and a rear 3.0" 920k-dot LCD permits clear live view monitoring and image review. Additionally, the camera can be used for bar code reading and also supports RSA encryption, write-once memory card compatibility, and password protection for secure image handling. Extending its versatility, too, either the included rechargeable lithium-ion battery or two AAA batteries can be used as its power source.

  • Ricoh G800SE Digital Camera

The G800SE Digital Camera from Ricoh is a fully functional compact point-and-shoot digital camera that offers additional features, such as a waterproof build, RSA encryption, bar code reading, write-once memory card compatibility, password protection and versatile battery support, which position this camera as an effective tool for those working in the medical, construction, surveying and law enforcement fields.

The G800SE has a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor, used to capture 16MP images and 1080 HD videos. The 5x optical zoom lens provides the 35mm equivalent of a 28-140mm focal length, while it also accepts 37mm filters for added protection and creative opportunities. Macro mode enables focus as close as 0.4" at the wide-angle end. It is capable of effective low light capture with ISO sensitivities from 100 to 25600, as well as supporting a built-in flash and hot shoe mount for an external flash. It also features blur reduction technology for sharper imaging at long focal lengths and in dim light.

For composition, review and menu navigation, the G800SE has a rear 3.0" 920k-dot Transmissive LCD. It supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards as well as Eye-Fi and SD WORM and Toshiba Write Once cards that "lock" information onto a card making it unable to be edited or rewritten afterward. Approximately 6.5GB of internal memory is available to save "camera memos" and to operate without a card or when yours is full.

The camera was designed to work in harsh environments. It is rated waterproof to a depth of 16' for a duration of 2 hours, shockproof up to a drop of 6.0' and coldproof down to 14°F. It is also dust and sand resistant and resistant and can be operated with gloves on thanks to the simple and well-designed layout of its buttons. Additional tough-minded features include resistance to industrial strength disinfectants, such as sodium hypochlorite and ethanol, or the option of washing it in water whenever it gets dirty. Conveniently, it can operate using AAA alkaline batteries in addition to the supplied rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
