Designed for capturing conversations and for note-taking sessions, the Voice Tracer 2000 by Philips is a stereo digital recording device offering an on-board microphone, a 28mm speaker, and more. You can listen to MP3s, WAV files, and even FM radio stations, all by navigating its back-lit LCD display.
Should you wish to plug-in a stereo microphone and listen through headphones, two built-in 3.5mm jacks are available. The unit itself holds up to 4GB, and its storage capacity can be extended via the SD slot. Additionally, the Voice Tracer is capable of recording both WAV files (PCM) and MP3 files; sample rate and resolution can be tweaked to your specific needs. You can record audio from the on-board microphone, the line-in jack, and even FM radio stations.
In addition to a pair of headphones and a USB cable, two AAA batteries are included; these should power the device for up to 38 hours of note taking, conversation recording, or radio playing. Afterwards, you can transfer your files to a Mac or Windows computer via the USB cable.
