The 210 Series Instant IAP-215 Wireless Access Point from aruba maximizes mobile device performance in medium-density, high-performance Wi-Fi environments. This compact dual-radio access point (AP) delivers wireless data rates of up to 1.3 Gb/s to 5 GHz devices with 802.11ac technology. It also supports 3x3 MIMO with three spatial streams as well as 2.4 GHz 802.11n clients at data rates up to 450 Mb/s.

The IAP-215 Access Point runs on InstantOS. When operated in Instant mode, a single unit can automatically distribute the network configuration to other Instant APs in the WLAN. Simply switch on the unit, configure it over the air, and plug in the other access points. This unit has six integrated omnidirectional down-tilt antennas. The built-in antennas are optimized for horizontal ceiling mounted orientation and the down-tilt angle for maximum gain is approximately 30°.

2.4 GHz (450 Mb/s maximum rate) and 5 GHz (1.3 Gb/s maximum rate) radios, each with 3x3 MIMO and six integrated omnidirectional down-tilt antennas.

Wi-Fi Client Optimization

The Instant Access Point (AP) features ClientMatch technology that continuously gathers session performance metrics from mobile devices.
ClientMatch automatically steers the device to a better access point, when a mobile device moves away from this access point or if RF interference impedes performance.

Advanced Cellular Co-Existence (ACC)

ACC allows WLANs to perform at peak efficiency by minimizing interference from 3G/4G LTE networks, distributed antenna systems, and commercial small cell / femtocell equipment.

Quality of Service for Unified Communication Apps

This AP supports priority handling and policy enforcement for unified communication apps, including Microsoft Lync with encrypted video-conferencing, voice, chat, and desktop sharing.

aruba Activate Service

For large installations across multiple sites, the aruba Activate service significantly reduces deployment time by automating device provisioning, firmware upgrades, and inventory management.
With aruba Activate, this Instant AP automatically configures itself when powered up.

RF Management

Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) technology automatically assigns channel and power settings, provides airtime fairness, and ensures that the access point stays clear of all sources of RF interference to deliver reliable, high-performance WLANs.
The AP can be configured to provide part-time or dedicated air-monitoring for spectrum analysis and wireless intrusion protection, VPN tunnels to extend corporate resources to remote locations, and wireless mesh connections where Ethernet drops are not available.

Spectrum Analysis

Capable of part-time or air-monitoring, the spectrum analyzer remotely scans the 2.4 and 5 GHz radio bands to identify sources of RF interference.


With an OpenDNS service subscription (not included), aruba Instant Remote Access Point delivers integrated web-filtering, malware, and botnet for protection to every device connected to the WLAN.
Integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) provides secure storage of credentials and keys and SecureJack ensures secure tunneling of wired Ethernet traffic.
