    Alesis FORGE reviews

Forge 8-Piece Electronic Drum Kit with Module is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bang On Just having a lot of fun with it as a practice set at home, nice & quiet. I am very satisfied with the overall construction, feel, & playability even with my 6'5 frame. I play through headphones into the module that is connected to my laptop and makes practice fantastic and fun. Module sounds & features are easy to adjust, after a little time getting used to it. Probably more features than I will ever use. Used to play a long time ago with friends but now at 55 I find myself in a real life blues band and need to shape up a lot quickly, and this is great. Very happy - great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pure excellence!!! This kit is AWESOME! I live on the second story of a condo; and therefore, it is imperative that I don't disturb my neighbors. The sensitivity of the heads is ideal for playing at varying degrees of intensity, not to mention the feel, which is very realistic. The sounds, which are plenty, are of the highest quality. The kit is compact, yet stretches out well enough to create a more natural feel of what one would expect from an acoustic kit. My wife is learning to play, and though she is a beginner, she absolutely loves this kit. I am sure more advanced players than I can give this kit a more thorough review, however, I can testify to its quality, craftsmanship, apparent durability, sound quality, compactness, and aesthetic appeal. I would recommend this kit to anyone who is looking for a high-end kit that doesn't break the bank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alesis Forge Haven't been able to play my acoustic kit living in a townhouse, so I purchased the Alesis Forge so I could play without bothering anyone else. It has been perfect. The sound and feel are both great and I have no complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Begs to be played First off, we're not drummers; we're musicians. So lots of playing, but drums were new. We bought this kit to learn, and for us this is great! A week straight so far and someone's almost always on it! If we weren't already playing guitars/keyboards/brass/woodwinds/etc, this would have been a lot of kit for a beginner. But if you already have a sense of time, or drum your fingers reflexively on a tabletop, this just begs to be played. Major props to B&H! Lots of places sell the Forge set, but the B&H extras - the seat, the sticks and especially the drummer headphones - wow. Whoever spec'd those add-ons knew what they were doing, and it took us a couple of days to realize just how right they were. The extras saved us a ton of time and got us playing right out of the box. The headphones in particular were a revelation; it was surprising how little time it took us to realize how useful they are in a group setting. The Forge kit has a lot of available drum kits but there's a fair amount of repetition between settings. Maybe the differences are too subtle for us? Still looking forward to programming some custom sets from our own samples. With the headphones on, really it's pretty quiet for everyone else. There's some twitchiness with the high-hat pedal that a real high hat wouldn't do, and as Jazz fans the lack of real brushes is deeply saddening, but no mistake - it looks good, sounds good, and is easy to rock out. We'll be putting this up on a stage soon enough.
