Features
Page Builder Interface
The highlight feature of the 701 Lite monitor is its Page Builder interface. Using customizable "pages" you can easily transition between different monitoring options with different settings. You can easily see the effect of your configurations on the image, swiping between pages using the joystick.
Focus Assist
Offering peaking and joystick zoom, the 701 Lite monitor makes pulling focus easier. Using the joystick, you can control the degree of zoom as well as move the zoomed-in area with a single finger.
Exposure Assist
To aid in achieving proper exposure, the 701 Lite has built-in tools including waveform, false-color, and zebras. All of these functions can be assigned to various pages for ease-of-access.
LUT Preview
If you are shooting using one of the various log profiles, you can monitor a LUT-adjusted image by importing the desired LUT to the monitor using an SD card. Like other settings, LUTs can also be assigned to their own pages. LUTs can also be sent downstream via the monitor's outputs for viewing by directors, clients, etc.

question

Can a camera signal be output from this device to your computer to be used as a webcam?
Asked by: John R.
The SmallHD 701 does have an HDMI Loop Out. You would be able to take that HDMI output and connect it to a capture device, such as the Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2, to then use the signal as a webcam on a computer.https://bhpho.to/2n9v5B3

question

I just ordered and the color is WAY off - is there a way to re-calibrate it?
Asked by: Charles R.
I updated mine to the latest firmware (OS3). It greatly improved the color rendition out of the box, and now has finer-tune color controls than the previous version. There's also a separate color calibration tool that's available, but I'm personally happy with the results after simply fine-tuning mine.

question

The display emits a high-pitched squeal when powered on. Slight but definitely noticeable, especially in a quiet studio environment. Any else experience this issue?
Asked by: Jeremy P.
I upgraded my monitor to the latest firmware version 3.1.2 that SmallHD released two days ago. I might imagine in, but the high-pitched sound is gone!

question

Does this monitor do touch autofocus when mounted to Canon 1DXii?
Asked by: Charles R.
I'm afraid thats a hard no. It doesn't have a touch screen. It uses a toggle on the one side for all controls. It does however let you load LUTS along with having focus assist, zebras and scopes. That is where the value is. Hope this helps!

I want to use this with my URSA MINI 4 K. I run the Ursa by a battery belt-dtap to XLR on the camera. Without adding extra weight to the camera rig, what are my power options for this monitor?
