Canon 2724A001 reviews

Extender Cap E II is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so much a review but advice! Of course this worked perfectly. Canon Cap on a Canon 2x Tele-extender. Perfect fit, nice and new. They are slightly thicker than a body cap, yet they fit bodies as well (of course). Here's the advice: Take a silver Sharpie and write on it For Extender ONLY. Inside and out. That's how I lost mine. Somehow put it on a body and sold it. Don't know how I did it, but I did. If you're looking for one of these, you might have done the same. Sorry to hear that. If you have one on a 1.4 or 2x extender already, go and get a Sharpie and write on both sides of it now. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs to look different The Canon tele extenders require a special front lens cap (Extender Cap E II); a very minor variation of the regular body cap. This can be quite frustrating if you have a bunch of caps - especially if you have different third party brands. An easy solution to this problem is to mark the cap so it can easily be spotted - a dab of paint. A suggestion for Canon - make this oddball cap in putty colored plastic - the color of their extenders. B&H sent me a Canon brand cap pronto - can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM Canon Extender Cap Purchased this to have as a back-up should (& when) I misplace the original teleconverter/extender's front dust cap. FWIW: the standard Canon dust cap will not work on the front of a Canon teleconverter as the housing needs to be slightly deeper to accommodate the front of the extender, which then allows for the lugs to engage in the landings. As far as I can tell this front dust cap will work on the front of EOS cameras without any problem (at least it does on a 7D). I found many reviews indicating this cap was designed for or was a replacement for the original and series II teleconverters, but nothing confirming compatibility with the newer series III such as a 1.4X III. I couldn't imagine it not working on the newer series III teleconverters but wanted to mention 'it is compatible.' Fit, finish, markings, etc., are all exactly the same as the Canon original extender front cap. However, because this extender cap is slightly different from the other Canon caps in depth, but not in appearance, I mark them with a silver Sharpie just to make them easier to ID in those instances when in a hurry. They might look like hell but I don't get them confused. To have an extra cap like this is cheap insurance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Special cap for tele extenders What can you say? This is a body cap for a Canon tele extender. You need this special cap (rather than a standard camera body cap because the front element of the 1.4x and 2x extenders projects forward and a camera body cap won't fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good multi-use cap It may only be a front cap for a tele-converter, but trust me when I say that you can never have too many of these in the bag. I've lost several of these over the years either in the field on nature shoots or on location for commercial work and there is simply no substitute for protecting your tele-converter's forward element. My rule of thumb is to use these for body caps on cameras too just so that I'll have an extra few laying around at all times. It seems to be out of stock pretty often, so if I need one, I buy two or three.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only one that fits Must have for protection. This is different than Canon's other caps--it's the only one that fits on a teleconverter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One Awesome Extender Cap! When I think of amazing extender caps, I think of this one. Works like a charm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit Somehow, over the past few years, I've managed to misplace or lose all the caps for my tele-converters. Then I managed to order the wrong replacements from B&H based on the manufacture's website. When those didn't fit, I finally spoke to someone at the manufacturer and they pointed me to the correct item and I ordered them here. Very satisfied, but I wish that there were a more universal solution, i.e. one size fits all.
