The sandstone Retrospective 5 Shoulder Bag from Think Tank is a small, discreet and simple bag designed for the photographer who carries a small system (e.g. one DSLR and 1-3 lenses). If you own a micro 4/3 system or a rangefinder, this is a bag worth considering. A zippered, inner pocket can accommodate an up to an 8" tablet. The interior dividers are customizable to accommodate the gear you carry on any given day.

The large front flap covers the entire bag and prevents anyone from seeing what's inside. The hook-and-loop closure is unique with its Sound Silencer system that eliminates the tearing sound normally encountered when you open a camera bag. This is especially valuable when you are shooting in quiet venues like courts, wedding services or chess matches.

The inside of the bag contains an organizer pocket that is perfect for a notepad, mic, or small pack of tissues. Two collapsible interior nylon pockets are designed to hold a flash or other similar sized accessory.

Outside, an expandable pocket is large enough for a regular sized DSLR body. The back of the bag has a wide storage pocket that is made to hold collateral material like paperwork, maps or notepads. Additional webbing loops are found outside to hold some small Modular, Skin or Multimedia pouches. Or, you can attach a carabiner to it for quick access items like keys. Two side pockets will hold small water bottles or even some small shoe-mount strobe lights. Under the main flap there is a business card holder.

The carry handle is removable and the shoulder strap contains non-slip material to keep the bag stable while moving. There's also a breathable cushioned pad along the strap to aid in positioning.

For complete protection, there's a neat rain cover that can be rapidly deployed when the weather turns sour. The cover has been configured to allow the handle and strap to extend but not interfere with the security of your gear. The Retrospective is backed by Think Tank's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

The exterior of each Retrospective shoulder bag is purposefully simple, allowing photographers to inconspicuously blend into their shooting environment
The Retrospective 5 fits a standard sized DSLR kit. A compact kit of prime or small zoom lenses fits easily with one lens attached to the camera body
The Retrospective 5 easily accommodates a Micro Four Thirds camera system with 3-6 lenses and accessories
The "Sound Silencers" underneath the main flap eliminate the loud tearing sound hook-and-loop makes while opening the bag. Simply release the Sound Silencer panels and cover the hook-and-loop strips to prevent the hook-and-loop from contacting
A clear business card pocket, for identification and spare cards, is located under the main flap
Hook-and-loop panels securely fastens the main flap down keeping valuable photo equipment hidden from view
An organizer pocket is located inside the main compartment. It gives photographers enough space for small, but significant, accessories necessary for a successful shoot
All of the dividers inside the bag are removable so the interior can be customized to any photographer's set of gear
Inside the main compartment are two collapsible nylon pockets (one on each side). These pockets are tall enough to fit most flash units or other accessories. A hook-and-loop strap can be used to secure the contents or it can be tucked into the pocket for quicker access
An expandable pocket on the front of the Retrospective 5 can be used to carry a regular sized DSLR body
A wide storage pocket is located on the back of the Retrospective 5. This pocket can be used to carry small maps, booklets or other paperwork
Removable carrying handle
A fully adjustable, canvas strap is integrated into the bag. For extra comfort, a breathable cushioned pad slides along the strap for optimum positioning. Sections of non-slip material on the pad helps keep the entire strap on your shoulder
Webbing loops on both sides of the Retrospective 5 can be used to carry small Modular, Skin or Multimedia pouches. Alternatively, a carabiner (not included) can be used to quickly clip accessories to the sides of the bag.
Side pockets on both sides can be used to carry smaller water bottles and will even fit some shoe-mounted strobe units
The included seam-sealed rain cover was specially designed to keep the carrying handle and integrated shoulder strap outside the rain cover without compromising protection from the elements

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkTank brings happiness I own the Airport Takeoff Rolling Bag and nothing but perfection. 5 years strong and no issues. When I needed a new shoulder bag for my mirrorless system ThankTank was the bag I wanted. I bought the 5 and am thrilled with it. The only issue I have is that I should have ordered the next size up. This bag holds my Fuji w/lens, two other lenses and batteries, SD cards. Not much else. I am not unhappy with the bag, just unhappy that I bought the smaller bag. The construction of the bag is as good as their roller bags and with that I am pleased. I will use this bag for small walking jobs, but will purchase the next bag up for when i may need more gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Fujifilm X-T1 and similar After purchasing the X-T1 a much smaller camera bag was needed. My ThinkTank Retrospective 20 was great with the big DSLR and large lenses so I considered the this one along with several others. There is a 7 and 10 that can hold a tablet that I also considered. So many choice and many are just as good but I stuck with a brand that worked well for me and a minimalist size. I carry the camera with kit 18-55mm attached, Additional lens and X100 or two lenes, flash, spare battery, memory card, cleaning cloth and some odds and ends. Perfect size for this kit and my use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for what I need I was a little skeptical at first if this small bag would fit my SLR with wide angle attached and 2 other lenses but it worked out perfect. Although I might be defeating the purpose with packing tight and not being able to use all of the handy storage areas, It carries what I only need for my trip and its not too bulky and looks casual! Everything I look for in a perfect camera bag. It all depends on what you use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple in Looks, Functional in Design. I purchased the Think Tank Retrospective 5 based on a few decisions. I needed a small shoulder bag for my new Fuji X-E1 camera and additional lens, and I didn't want the camera bag to scream I have a camera in here. I love the material, functional and customizable dividers, just enough pockets to secure smaller items like memory cards, my remote control release and the camera's owner manual. It's lightweight, includes a rain cover, and is obviously very high quality. Think Tank puts much thought into their designs and their reputation proves it. I enjoy the small thoughtful features built into this camera bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The go anywhere bag I wanted a smaller bag for vacation travel. After 30 years of DSLR photography I have added a Fujifilm mirrorless system. I chose for my kit 3 prime lenses along with the usual extras. The Retrospective 5 bag is perfect for my needs. It has loads of extra pockets. The dividers can be customized for camera and lenses. The build quality is superb, I have no question that it will last for years. Also it has an included rain cover that is a very nice addition. I have no reservations about recommending this bag

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just buy a Billingham... I bought this based on a recommendation from a few dicussion threads and blogs. I used this to carry a Leica M8 with one lens attached and a couple lenses with the SD24 flash and a Polaris light meter. Needless to say, all of these barely fit in this bag. The shoulder strap is also waay to thick. The velcro silencer is next to you will just end up not closing your bag properly and have your expensive camera equipment fall into a concrete floor. So I bit the bullet and bought the Billingham Hadley Pro. If you are buying this bag because you think the Billingham is expensive, I'm telling you that it's worth it...don't do what I did where I ended up spending more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a Micro 4/3 System I bought this bag to use with my Olympus OMD EM-10 on trip to Italy. In addition to the camera and kit lens, this bag holds my 40-150 lens, a 25mm 1.8, a 46mm 1.8, a wide angle converter, and my spare Panasonic LX-7 as well as a handful of accessories. I was concerned about the weight before I bought the bag, but I found that this bag is actually more comfortable to wear all day than some other, lighter bags. This bag is nice looking, solidly built, comfortable, and functional. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Bag! Finally, getting away from the traditional camera bag look. I love what Think Tank has done with bags in terms of style and functionality. I bought the Retrospective 5 and 7 for my mirrorless system and they are perfect. Great for walking around the city, traveling or even as my grab & go bag. The 5 has enough space for camera, several lenses, flash, and accessories. It is stylish - my wife doesn't tease me about looking like a tourist anymore. Thanks Think Tank for great looking, yet very functional bags.
