This network attached storage features Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and comes with two drive bays set to RAID 1 or Mirror Mode. This preconfigured setting ensures that your data will be mirrored from one drive to the other to help prevent data loss should one of the drives fail. To manage your data, Western Digital has outfitted this NAS with a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor along with 512MB of memory. There are also two USB 3.0 ports for expanding the My Cloud Mirror's storage capacity and backing up the data to optional storage drives.

Aside from data storage and security, you can share your data on your own personal cloud. WD WDBWVZ0160JWT-NESN reviews

    My Cloud Mirror (Gen 2) 16TB 2-Bay NAS Server (2 x 8TB) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly recommended I bought this NAS to replace my older WD MyCloud 4TB single bay unit which I have had for some years. The MyCloud Mirror employs all the basics of the excellent original operating system and adds a few features to further enhance capability. On the hardware side, the Gen 2 unit has twice the RAM, twice the processor speed and four times the storage capacity. However, in reality, most users will probably opt for the factory setting of RAID 1 as that is the safest way to do it, even though it limits storage to 8TB. Be aware that if you are setting this up in RAID 1, auto rebuild needs to be enabled. The new WD operating system has some slight deviations from the older ones but most people will find this pretty easy to set up out of the box. Failing that WD Support is actually pretty good. Connectivity is still something of an issue for some people and I was no exception. The biggest issue I found was that of remote login. Cloud sharing must be turned on. I tried this through my PC work station at my office but I have not been able to get it to work. WD also uses one-time setup apps which simplify a lot of this but will not necessarily fit with your company's IT policy. Phone and tablet setup is, however, a pretty painless process and gives you a pretty high level of flexibility. The original desktop apps have now been largely replaced by the web page setup facility and this is the bit that looks after you port forwarding. This is an issue for most people as their ISPs will most likely be blocking ports 80 and 443 as they are frequently used for exploits. The web login apparently takes care of that. The new unit has also some power saving functions which can be turned on or off through the we page. Some will not like the 10 second delay as the disks spin up again. A lot of this is able to be setup according to personal preferences. The MyCloud continues to work flawlessly as my Time Machine back up and this was extremely easy to set up.
