Iconic knife maker Rick Hinderer had the specific and unique needs of firefighters, first-responders, and rescue workers in mind when he designed the Hinderer Rescue Folding Knife for Gerber. Its 3.5" straight back blade is made with a blunted point to avoid puncturing victims while cutting close to them and the fully serrated length makes short work of rope, fabric, straps, and just about anything else. Large dual thumb studs make it easy to open the blade with either hands, even when wearing gloves, and a sliding pivot lock secures the blade open while in use.
But this is more than an EDC knife, the Rescue's handle integrates multiple tools that those who are first on the scene frequently need. A seatbelt/strap cutter folds out, there is a universal oxygen tank valve wrench, and on the end is a glass breaker. A bit driver set with nine bits, a bit holder, and a 90° handle to provide torque; plus the Rescue knife, all fit in the included black nylon sheath.
