Inspired by a Santoku chef's knife, found in commercial kitchens everywhere, the Gerber Freescape Camp Kitchen Knife is also well-suited to other camp chores. The 3.8" modified sheepsfoot straight edge design is a solid choice for chopping, and the thick spine makes it a good choice for other tasks such as cutting rope or making kindling. 7Cr17MoV stainless steel was used for its ability to resist rust and hold an edge. The handle is a textured rubber overmold that covers the full tang, and provides a firm grip even when wet. Unlike most knives designed for use in the outdoors, the Freescape Camp Kitchen Knife can handle the high temperatures of the dishwasher, so sanitation is a breeze. This knife comes with a nylon sheath complete with a retention strap and a belt loop for safe transportation and storage.
