Elegant in its simplicity, Gerber'sProdigy Fixed-Blade Knife was inspired by their LMF II and designed by the same person - Jeff Freeman. Stripped of all but the essentials required for a basic survival knife, the Prodigy boasts a 4.75" partially-serrated blade of US-made 420 high-carbon stainless steel. It is ceramic coated with a matte-black finish that reduces reflection and resists corrosion. This is a full-tang knife for strength that runs from tip to pommel. The handle is over-molded with rubber to give it a slip-resistant grip even when it's cold and wet. To carry the knife, Gerber includes a rubber and nylon sheath that is designed for quiet use. The main part is rubber with multiple lash-holes, and the backing and upper handle is heavy nylon. Multiple loops, including two MOLLE-compatible ones, give users the ability to carry in a variety of configurations.
