The Cube RS2 from Seercam is a form-fitting camera cage for Sony's a7 II series of mirrorless cameras. Designed to serve as the foundation point of your camera rig, the CNC-machined aluminum cage helps protect the camera body while providing 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 accessory mounting holes on all sides to suit your video production needs. Not to interfere with camera operation, the cage maintains access to all buttons on the top and rear of the camera, with a recording support pin used to engage the side record start/stop button. A short, detachable rod at the rear of the cage on the grip side offers increased stability when operating handheld.

Included with the cage is a top handle that attaches via a short rail, allowing for side-to-side adjustment and quick removal. When mounted, you can also adjust the handle grip forward and backwards for customized comfortable and balancing. A notable feature of the cage is its integrated cable clamp, which flips open when needed and folds against the camera when not in use. A one-touch locking system is used to quickly secure your cables in place and protect your camera's connectors from damage or from the cables accidentally coming loose while shooting. In addition to protecting cables, you can even use the cable lock as a second handle for handheld shooting.

For tripod mounting, the bottom of the cage features one 3/8"-16 threaded hole and two 1/4"-20 threaded holes. An extendable body supporter at the bottom of the cage lets you position a 1/4"-20 mounting thread further out under your lens to help balance front-heaving camera setups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS CAGE I use this cage with my A7Sii and absolutely love it. It doesn't add a lot of extra weight to the camera (I lugged it all over japan and up Mt. Fuji). The camera almost clicks into place when you mount it in. The ergonomics are excellent, whoever was the genius to install the detachable rear rod, I commend you (it really fits your hand well and allows you to access the controls of the camera). I've mounted 3 cold shoes on to it, that's about as many as you could probably add. No complaints what-so-ever, highly recommend this model over the other A7Sii cages.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product! Cage feels really sturdy and well built. The side video record button is a great addition. The cable lock performs well and the left side swing out acts a decent handle too. Our Sony A7Sii fit perfectly, very snug. I only knocked off one star because there is no additional block for when we use our MetaBones lens adaptor. It's a minor thing, but while the cage has a nice slide out 'foot' there is a gap between it and my adapter, which would be nice to help support larger/heavier lenses. I will have to look for something to sneak in there. We also added 2 of the Seercam 1/4 Hot Shoe plates to the top to add more mounting options. Otherwise there are plenty of threaded hole for mounting options.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Solid built, functional fail This cage is built well. It's solid and holds the A7s II tight. I've been searching high and low looking for cage to suit my needs. I needed to make the record function better. Start and Stop button on the A7s series is terrible. This narrowed the field down to this cage and the Tilta rig. There are some other handles and grips out there, but the costs are more than the cages, just for the hand grip with A7s start/stop control. I tried everything around this. Hacking the small Sony remote button device ($50), using the Cheesy button ($20), trying LANC controllers with a 2.5mm jack to MultiTerminal (none of these worked.) This cage offers a button built right into the cage. Looked awesome, but in the end, this was the deal breaker. The button needed to be pushed in extremely hard to trigger the start/stop recording. It was even more difficult to start recording than using just the A7s button. When the cage is on, you HAVE to use this button option. When it doesn't work, game over. The good on the cage is that it's well build and has a nice overall fit. The swing arm to pinch the mini HDMI cable and MultiTerminal cable is great and doubles as side handle for balancing. The handle on top is steady and solid, but has no stopper if things get loose. I really liked the build of this cage, but the record button ruined it for me. If this cage came with a side handle with a build-in start/stop button, I would buy it in a second. Instead, I returned it and opted for the more expensive Tilta rig.
