Fiberglass ribs and rods offer greater flexibility and resist the tendency to bend like aluminum ribbed umbrellas. The ribs create a more uniform shape for greater reflectance.
White Interior with Removable Silver
White interior with removable black/silver backing provides a dual purpose to this modifier. When used with the black/silver backing the ParaSail offers a slightly punchy quality with maximum output, while the white fabric softens the contrast. I have a short ceiling in our home office studio which was inspiration to buy this umbrella in the first place. I've also been using it to light photo booths for local events while also using the 60 version opposite the 88 for a bit more even lighting. It's worked out very good. No regrets on the purchase.

This umbrella works well in my low ceiling studio. Quality of light is quite satisfactory in my opinion. Construction quality I would say is average, but no issues. And for any Canadians considering buying from B&H; they have made it a very smooth easy operation.

The size of this umbrella makes it perfect for full body studio work and I used this to great success to light an outdoor studio shoot. Client was happy and so was I, especially since it's super easy to transport.

A great idea, but with some limitations

I'm usually working under a low ceiling, and this umbrella lets me use a wider umbrella under that limitation. A couple of things you should know, though: First, it's heavier than a smaller umbrella so you need to make sure the mount you're using to attach this to your stand is sturdy enough and that your stand is weighted down with a sandbag at the bottom to keep the whole assemblage from toppling. Since the umbrella is asymmetrical it wants to rotate unless you have it tightened sufficiently in the mount. Finally, the sleeve/bag that comes with it is poorly stitched together, -the pointed end of the folded umbrella poked through the bottom the second time I tried to use it. I managed to fix it by stitching it back together by hand, but if you're handy with a sewing machine you might want to turn it inside out and reinforce all the seams. Otherwise the bag will never last.

Quickly Deployed, Easily Maneuvered, Efficient Light

I primarily use this light for a natural looking light, when I am shooting indoors with little natural light, and no clean surfaces to bounce flash off. Originally, I doubted that the shape of this umbrella would be of much added value, but boy was I wrong. When I am using this on a small light stand with a speedlight or ad300pro, I can whip this thing around in tight spaces without getting hung up on ceiling fixtures to keep up with dynamic sessions like spontaneous children. If you can relate to these situations, this umbrella is a cool, affordable experiment for you to try. Also, because the backing on this white umbrella is silver, I find this to be a very efficient umbrella, which allows me to use smaller lights where I would otherwise have to grab heavier strobes and stands, that require a less flexible shooting style.

I allways take with me for portraits on location, its very useful for corporate portraits on offices, you can use it on its side up to the ceiling or vertical for fill light. the quality is good, and the cover is removable for use as shoot-thru . Its resistant with good quality finishing. a must have for photographer that work on office locations.

Umbrellas are measured around the back which makes the numbers higher than the face width of the umbrella.
