So if you need a firmware update in order to use the TAP that’s purpose is to update firmware then you need to send it back to the dealer who sold it to you for update. B&H may be able to assist. The Tamron official web site has a support site that said to contact TAMRON USA, INC. 10 Austin Boulevard, Commack, NY 11725 USA. T: +(1) 631 858 8400. http://www.tamron-usa.com/. From the Tamron support site. “Lens Update Service Information The lens firmware can be updated with the separately sold TAP-in Console. If you do not have a TAP-in Console, please contact your nearest Tamron dealer.” Good luck.

Will this work with Tamrons older 28-75 lens?
Asked by: Jay
No, the Tamron TAP-in Console for Nikon F Lenses is not compatible for use with the Tamron SP 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di for Nikon F. If you need a lens with a similar focal length that is compatible for use with the Tamron TAP-in Console for Nikon F Lenses, then the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon F, B&H # TA2470N, would be recommended for your usage.

Further, I have found for the G2 model and other Tamron lenses I own that it is very helpful not only for firmware updates, but for fine tuning the autofocus in each zoom lens itself for sharper pictures through the range of different distances.

Is this what I need to update my Tamron lenses so that they are compatible with the Nikon Z6?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Nikon Z6 is not an F series lens and has a much bigger flange that an F mount lens. This F mount tools will only upgrade the firmware in Tamron F mount lenses. However using the FTZ adapter you may be able to use the Tamron F mount on your Z mount Nikon camera if Tamron has released the firmware that supports your Tamron lens with a Nikon compatible Tamron firmware set.
