The SOHORAID MR2-WB3 2-Bay USB 3.0 RAID Enclosure from Stardom supports drives that are 7 and 9.5mm tall in its dual 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s bays. Equipped with one USB 3.0 port, two FireWire 800 ports, and a hardware RAID controller, this enclosure supports RAID 0, which helps enhance performance and RAID 1, which provides data redundancy. For those who do not need the benefits of RAID, JBOD is also supported, which allows each of the 2.5" drives to be used individually. When configured as a RAID 0 using two hard drives, read speeds are possible up to 240 MB/s, with write speeds reaching 256 MB/s. When configured as a RAID 1 using two hard drives, write read speeds are possible up to 129 MB/s, with write speeds reaching 117 MB/s. When equipped with two SSDs and configured as a RAID 0, read speeds are possible up to 339 MB/s, with write speeds reaching 330 MB/s. If the SSDs are configured as a RAID 1, read speeds are possible up to 331 MB/s, with write speeds reaching 357 MB/s.

The SOHORAID MR2-WB3 2-Bay USB 3.0 RAID Enclosure operates using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz and is compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. Included is a USB 3.0 cable, a FireWire 800 (1394b) cable, an AC power adapter, and an accessory kit.

Compatible with Thunderbolt Video Capture Boxes
The Thunderbolt interface allows you to perform video capturing, while making use of the common USB 3.0 or FireWire800 interfaces for data storage. Such a configuration not only distributes the computer system's burden instead of using just one transmission interface, while also satisfying most users' work requirements. It is specially designed to ensure the rapid completion of work
USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 Interfaces
Certain Macs are equipped with USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 interfaces which are convenient interfaces for data storage expansion, as well as suitable connection interfaces between different Mac computers. This RAID enclosure can be used with a MacBook Pro while you are on the move, providing you with the high volume digital storage that you may need while out. When you are back home or at your workstation, you can then connect the MR2-WB3 to your iMac or Mac mini for video processing
To Help You Complete Photography Projects
For a professional photographer, every assignment is an all-new challenge. Keeping the huge amount of digital data that comes with an outdoors shoot safe, well-organized, and well-managed is important for every professional. Fortunately, the MR2-WB3 is ready to rise to the challenge. The MR2-WB3's RAID 1 mode safely backs up all of your important data in two hard disks. The enormous capacity of the hard disks completely replaces the nuisance of juggling memory cards. Files imported to the MR2-WB3 can be managed through software like Adobe Lightroom or Aperture, allowing you to quickly organize your important photos or even helping you quickly find the photo you need
Hardware RAID
As a software RAID is unable to overcome the problems associated with cross-platform usage, the MR2-WB3's built-in hardware RAID controller chipset allows users to use it with Mac or Windows computers. With the high transmission speed of USB 3.0, the editing of files with 1080p compression can be easily done with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro. Even uncompressed full motion 1080i HD video, with its streaming speed up to 119 MB/s can be easily stored by the MR2. Coupled with Avid Media Composer and Intensity, the MR2 can be used for capturing, editing, browsing, and playing videos. It follows the Avid process in Mac OS X and Windows 8 platforms.

Also, with hardware RAID, all data is computed and processed by the built-in CPU. With such advantages, your computer's performance can be focused on running the software and work, instead of handling the storage device's transmission issues
HDMI Capture and Storage
The high quality compressed video captured via the HDMI interface can be quickly saved to the MR2-WB3 through the USB 3.0 interface, where you can browse and process them, and add information such as the source name, description, volume number, site, lens, and shooting angle, etc
Data in the Whole HD to Go
If your project files are too large to be transmitted via the Internet, or you need to send the same data out for use with different devices, for example to edit photo or video files, the removable hard disk tray and protective case design is a good option for your requirements
Two Hard Drives, One USB 3.0 Cable
The MR2-WB3 supports the JBOD function (two independent volumes). A single port can support two large capacity hard drives, allowing the user to directly view both drives. This is very convenient for users who use a single hard drive as their image gallery, as they can easily swap hard drives without cabling issues. If you need to access a lot of image and video galleries, you can change the entire image gallery by swapping hard drives, as simple as changing a DVD
Secured Drive Module Design
To transfer video captured from a Blackmagic Production Camera 4K to a mobile SSD, you can directly install the SSD on to the MR2's hard drive tray, and then connect it to a computer to perform editing or color correction on captured video directly. The hard disk can be formatted to be compatible with Mac HFS+ or Windows exFAT

The MR2-WB3's drive module is built-in with locking mechanism to prevent from accidentally removing hard drives. In the event that a hard drive should fail, simply swap out the defective drive with the same drive module to shorten the downtime and reduce the cost of repair
Aluminum: Reliability & Safety
The casing of the MR2-WB3 is made of highly recyclable aluminum. The casing completely encloses the disks inside, protecting the high-capacity disks and data when it is on the move or in a backpack. Not only is the casing made of a sturdy aluminum alloy, the heat dissipation of aluminum also means that it is highly efficient in cooling and absorbing the heat of the internal components, keeping your hard drive safe and right temperature
