The Deck DT8-U5 8-Bay Mini-SAS JBOD Enclosure from Stardom is an 8-bay enclosure that is natively compatible with JBOD. This enclosure is equipped with eight 3.5" SAS/SATA III drive bays and offers connectivity options using its dual Mini-SAS ports. Using its Mini-SAS ports, it is able to connect with external RAID controllers, such as the ATTO R680, the Areca ARC-1882X, and the Areca ARC-1223-8X. Once connected to a compatible external controller, the DT8-U5 can operate in a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 5, 6, 1+0, 50, and 60. With the appropriate RAID and hard drives, users will be able to work with two concurrent uncompressed 10-bit HD video streams or the transmission of a single 2K DPX file.

The DT8-U5 uses a space-saving form factor that also includes a stackable design, allowing it to be utilized directly on desks, while also being compatible with racks. This enclosure is cooled using dual 9cm fans and powered via an internal power supply that operates using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz, single phase. Included are dual Mini-SAS cables, an AC power cable, an accessory kit, a rackmount handle, and foot pads.

The solid industrial design structure and its aluminum alloy outer shell not only provides a strong hard disk mounting environment, but the quick-cooling case and the two 9cm quiet cooling fans make rapid cooling and system stability possible even when 8 hard disks are running concurrently
Convenient and Safely Removable Hard Drive Module
DT8-U5's hard drive tray design features a security lock and a safety structure that locks the hard drive, which effectively allows simple and convenient maintenance for sensitive data. In case of hard drive damage, users do not have to worry about data maintenance as they merely have to swap it with a hard drive of identical model and capacity, which reduces the waiting time incurred during the device repair period
Short-Rack Design
The DT8-U5's short-rack structural design is not only suitable to for desktop use, but also for installation on server racks. Because its depth is less than half of a normal rack, the installation can be combined with a mobile rack without occupying extra space
Built-in Power Supply
The DT8-U5 is equipped with a 300W, high-conversion-efficiency internal power supply that complies with safety standards; this allows users to not be affected by insufficient power for the use of hard drives with different standards
