Garmin 010-01605-04 overview

  • 1Description

The black vivoactive HR Sport Watch with Extra-Large Band from Garmin is a thin, GPS-enabled fitness watch with a sunlight-readable color touchscreen and a built-in Elevate heart rate monitor. The vivoactive HR features built-in sports apps that provide GPS- and GLONASS-enabled running, biking, and golf data tracking. It even provides performance feedback for swimming, snowing, paddle boarding, and more. The vivoactive HR also serves as an all day activity tracker, so you can see how many steps you've taken, floors you've climbed, calories you've burned, and more. To top it off, the vivoactive HR also monitors your sleep, so you can stay on top of your sleep quality.

In addition to sport and activity tracking, the vivoactive HR pairs with your smartphone to gently vibrate and display alerts for incoming calls, texts, emails, and calendar items; plus, it receives notifications from social media and other mobile apps. You can customize the vivoactive HR with free watch face designs, widgets, and apps from Garmin's Connect IQ store.

Wear It All Day Long
The vivoactive HR can help you play harder, work smarter, and live better. Built-in sports apps keep you active while smart notifications allow you to stay in contact with pressing work matters—all so you can keep your life in balance. The high-resolution, color touchscreen stays readable in direct sunlight, so you can view your stats when you step out of the office for a run. The 0.45"-thin profile makes it comfortable to wear all day and can transition from office to bike to golf course to anything in between. The rechargeable battery lasts up to 8 days in smartwatch mode (with 24/7 heart rate monitoring and no GPS) or up to 13 hours when using GPS.
Built-In Heart Rate Monitor
With Elevate heart rate technology built in, you can ditch the chest strap and measure heart rate from your wrist. Using heart rate data, vivoactive HR provides calories burned information and quantifies the intensity of your fitness activities, providing better credit and insight for your activity efforts.
Built-In Sports Apps
The vivoactive HR features built-in sports apps that track your stats, even when you aren't near your phone. Choose from a variety of GPS-enabled sports apps and activity tracking features.
Hit the Ground Running
Using its built-in accelerometer and GPS/GLONASS support, vivoactive HR enables you to run both indoors and out. You can set up vibration alerts for heart rate, pace, movement intervals, and more. The vivoactive HR also provides post-run summary data, with stats such as total mileage, calories, average pace, and overall time.
On the Bike
The vivoactive HR's cycling app measures time, distance, speed, and calories. It's compatible with a variety of add-on sensors, including select speed and cadence sensors, to measure your progress on training rides as well as daily commutes. The vivoactive HR even works with Varia lights and radar for safer riding.
In the Pool
Hit the lap lanes and see detailed stats like total and interval distance, pace, stroke count, stroke type, and more using the vivoactive HR's swimming app. At the end of a workout, view your summary data, which includes interval and session averages, overall time and personal records.
Tee Off
Play new courses every day by downloading any of the 40,000 worldwide course maps from Garmin's golf course database. The onboard golfing app can show a simplified view of the green and help you track your score, allowing you to see if you're under or over par. The PinPointer feature points you in the right direction when you are unable to see the green. It also measures shot distance with a simple press of a button.
Paddle Board and Rowing
If you like to paddle board or row, either indoor or in open water, the built-in paddle boarding app can track and display all your stats. See your pace, overall time, distance, and stroke all at a glance when out on the water or in the gym.
Hit the Slopes
For a day of skiing or snowboarding, vivoactive HR measures your speed by calculating the speed and distance on an incline versus latitude and longitude. It also provides your splits automatically and gives you the option to turn on Auto Pause, which freezes the timer automatically when you stop or ride the lift.
Stay Connected
The vivoactive HR gently vibrates to alert you to all the same notifications you receive on your compatible smartphone, from phone calls to social media alerts to other notifications from mobile apps. The vivoactive HR also displays weather information, temperature, and more. Additionally, it lets you control the music on your phone, locate your phone, remotely control your VIRB action camera, and let your friends and family track your activities in real time with LiveTrack. You can even personalize your vivoactive HR with custom watch faces, data fields, apps, and widgets from Garmin's Connect IQ store.

    Garmin 010-01605-04 reviews

vivoactive HR Sport Watch (Extra-Large Band) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXACTLY what I wanted in a Sports Activity Watch! I waited a LONG time to finally find a watch that does everything I want and need it to do. If it doesn't do what you want straight out of the box, you simply find and download (often customizable) Apps and Widgets that enhance the functionality to the way you like. Here are some of the other things I like: Super fast (built-in) GPS and Compass lock. Amazing battery life. WATERPROOF! On-wrist Heart Rate (no chest strap!). Comfortable fit, even to sleep with. Daylight viewable touch-screen. Great connection and interaction with my smart-phone. Garmin Connect and Garmin Express and the amount of, and ways to view the data they collect from the watch. Multitude of Watch Faces, Apps, and Widgets available for free, and that list is ever expanding. The Garmin SDK gives me hope that I might learn to create my own Apps, Widgets, and Watch Faces!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Vivoactive Beautiful piece of equipment I love it , but the crystal is very fragile and it cracked it less than a week from normal use which was a major disappointment . I contacted Garmin and they are sending a replacement , but I was informed the crystal is not covered under the warranty and any future occurrence would have to be paid out of pocket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sports watch Have had watch since it first came out and it is super. Have biked, swam, run, hiked, slept, you get the idea all the time all summer and still looks like new. It has preformed like a champ. People say the face is fragile but mine has hit the dirt and road with me a few times and is not even scratched. The black bezel is a little worn but a black magic marker fixes that. GPS is super and heart rate is ok, the tracking is fantastic I just think it works very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gear with a befuddling app The watch is excellent, swim-worthy, and has several features that weren't available on my fitbit. Navigation is a little clunky but the real thing with room for improvement is the app and 3rd party plug ins. In the end I prefer this to other gear as there's so many good details to dig into but the learning curve is steep.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poor crystal Overall I love the watch , but I have had it less than a month and the crystal has cracked twice . Customer service at Garmin is great , unfortunately the turnaround time is poor it can take up to 14 days. I would recommend the watch with the reservation I stated also you should know the warranty is a year

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value for Money Garmin VivofitHR This is my first Garmin device and coming from Fitbit Force and Charge HR. Moved to Garmin since in 2 years i went through 3 Fitbits due to product quality issue and i had it with Fitbit. Neighbour is a runner and recommended me to try Garmin. This is a good band for most people but if you want to have focused running etc then get Fenix or other Garmins which are better catered to it. Good parts are they have GPS,Smartphone notification that worked fine with my Pixel XL no issues. Notification worked with Majority of messaging apps like Whatsapp,Hangout and Text Messages. Calls could be taken and configuration was simple but was leary about the Garmin Connect as i heard issues but with Pixel no issues. GPS is good but drains battery might get 8-10 hrs with that on. But plethora of sports options. Now the bad , the battery life is great but the reason is the touchscreen display is not bright and challenging in dark room to read. Also the look is bulky runner watch types. Not a looker but very functional. HR is as good as wrist based one can get. Best part of this over Fitbit is the GPS and Waterproofing this has upto 50mts.
