A fast, versatile prime, this 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma is designed for use with APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also affords extensive control over depth of field for using selective focus techniques. The optical design features a pair of aspherical elements, along with one high-refractive index element, which significantly reduce spherical aberrations and distortion for increased clarity and definition for notably sharp image quality. Also, a Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to control lens flare and ghosting in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, benefitting both stills shooting and video recording, this compact prime also incorporates a stepping AF motor for smooth, near-silent autofocus performance.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Reviews
Incredibly value packed
Great for product photography. Each image is natural and crisp.
Beautiful lens
Very nice little lens with great image quality! Fun to use.
Best quality ever
This lens is a must. I've been using in my Sony a7iii even tho it's designed for APS cameras. The image quality is amazing. I'm overwhelmed at it.
Great Lens
Great Lens! I paired it with the canon M200 and it yields great results! I love the way it blurs the background!
Sharp, Smooth & Creamy
After hours of review videos and forum following I decided to jump on the Sigma 30mm for the EF-M Mount. This lens offers amazing detail on the Canon M50 Mark II with a deliciously creamy bokeh. The prime lens offerings from Sigma produce elite renderings of the world around you at an unbeatable price and I would highly recommend this lens to anyone looking to advance their image quality without breaking the bank. The lens is on the heavier side when mounted on my M50, but still isn't cumbersome for day hiking with the camera. In the future I will definitely be looking to pick up the other Sigma prime lenses for the EF-M mount.
Very sharp lens with great bokeh, AF is blah
I incredibly sharp lens, fast, with great bokeh. Only wish the autofocus was better. Tends to search too much. I noticed it on two different Sony bodies. Kinda want to take those GM's on a date. Shhh.
Makes me look good
Being brand new to photography, I didn't want to spend $1000.00 on a new lens just to find out that it doesn't make me any better. HOWEVER, what I found, is that for me, this prime lens is exactly what I needed! This lens completely changed my thoughts on photography, it is light and airy, as well as being fairly compact on my camera (Fujifilm X-S10). I have been using it for portraits with a great background, have even received quite a few compliments on my recent photography adventures! Moral of the story, I would HIGHLY recommend this lens. I would love to try the fujifilm 35mm F/1.4 to compare!
First Rate Optics
There are a lot of budget lenses with optical compromises and reviewers tend to focus on the price and minimize the defects. The Sigma 30mm f1.4 has spectacular MTF numbers, very small amounts of distortion, and all around profession level optical properties that outclasses lenses costing 5-6 times more. This is the best performance/cost glass that I have ever owned. I have been a photographer for 50 years and in my work use research-grade microscopes.
