Pairing a useful range of telephoto focal lengths with an especially fast design, this Nikon F-mount Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM is an Art-series zoom mixing impressive versatility with advanced optics. The bright f/1.8 constant maximum aperture offers consistent low-light performance throughout the zoom range and also affords greater control over focus placement for shallow depth of field and selective focus applications. The optical design incorporates a series of low dispersion and high-refractive index elements, which help to achieve high clarity and sharpness by suppressing various aberrations, color fringing, and distortion. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied, too, which controls lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy. Balancing the optical merits, this 50-100mm also sports an advanced Hyper Sonic Motor, along with an internal focusing and zoom design, to promote fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance. Additionally, a tripod collar is integrated into the lens's design for greater stability when working atop a tripod or monopod.

Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Reviews
Amazing lens........worth every penny!
My first sigma lens is this 50-100mm F1.8 Art series. I can tell you that I could not be happier with the quality of this lens. Put it on my Canon 80D. I have only used it a couple times and have gotten some stunning photos. It is heavy but it is worth it. You will not be disappointed with this beast!
Remarkable lens
Really just a great lens. 95% as good as primes. Perfect for S35.
Fantastic Lens!
First the image quality is amazing! I have owned the 18-35 version for quite some time and every thing I shoot with it looks amazing... Just like with the 50-100 now. As others have stated it is a bit heavier than you might think (does not bother me though). The 50-100 and 18-35 are an amazing set of lenses and cover a huge range of projects for me. On another note, I was able to compare them with the higher priced Sigma Cinema version of these lenses, and Sigma Cinema primes, no one on the set or in the editing room could tell them apart.
Great lens
Awesome lens, just wish Sigma made one like this with a rotating tripod collar for full frame cameras in a wider range. My only gripes are the lens hood is hard to get on & off and the lettering is quickly wearing off considering how little I use the lens and it's in it's own hard case so it's not getting rough treatment. You have to watch your focus carefully shooing manually because when you zoom it throws the focus out pretty quickly. That said, this does a really great job for all the headshots I do.
Solid tool. Great value!
The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 lens is an amazing value! The lens produces a sharp image and has good image stabilization. It is a great tool to employ in low light scenarios. I would recommend this lens to anyone with an APSC sensor, without hesitation. The only obstacle I've encountered is the focus breathing issues others have already pointed out. However, this shortcoming is easy to overlook considering the overall package Sigma has delivered.
Great
This is just the sharpest lence I've ever have
Really solid lens!
I'm a filmmaker, and I have a 18-35 and this 50-100 as my standard kit for interview/b-roll shoots. Lovely image, looks very similar to their cine versions of these lenses. Pairs well with pro mist. Sharp, even wide open. Only downside is that this one has noticeable focus breathing. Not a huge issue for me, but something to consider.
Great replacement
Bought this to replace my Canon Nifty Fifty. The picture quality at 50mm is much better and add the zoom ability, I'm very happy. I give it a 4 only because the lack of image stabilization.
