Sigma 89E965 Reviews

It works...sort of.

Despite being a Sigma EF mount, this converter does not fully support my Sigma Art 24-70mm lens. The light on the converter that is supposed to turn on when it connects with the lens does not turn on. I can shoot with it, but the AF is extremely slow and not practical for what I shoot (live music). Ideally, I would return this but it is past the return date. I plan on looking to resell it.

I am loving it!

I got to say that I am loving the fact of being able to use my canon or EF mount lenses on my sony fs5 thanks to this adapter. as espected there is draw backs although, when i am using my sigma lens the auto focus does work but very slow, this is not a problem for me as I mainly work manual but I think you should know. also the zoom does not work but again does not affect my style of shooting. keep this in mind but is you are the type to work in manuel mode I thing you will love it as well!! I only gave it 4 starts to be fair because it does have draw backs. but otherwise would have been 5

Should have an Arca-Swiss foot & fit EF-S lenses

I bought this as a lower cost backup for my Metabones adapter. Overall it is not as good as the Metabones unless you are adapting Sigma lenses. The Canon 100mm f2.8L is known to be more challenging to adapt well. My copy focuses OK (not great) on the Metabones but is noticeably worse on the Sigma. The MC-11 also lacks any provision for an Arca-Swiss QR plate foot which would distribute the weight better when using heavier lenses on a tripod. There is an aftermarket lens collar/tripod ring but the fit is not as solid as it should be. I plan to shim the collar for a solid fit.

I've used the Sigma MC-11 Mount now and it seems to work great with all the Sigma Lenses with the EF mount to my new Sony a7iv. Works great in both photography and video modes.

It works flawlessly.

I use all of my EF Canon lenses with the MC-11 adapter on my Sony a9ii and it works flawlessly. I am surprised that the autofocusing and image stabilization is even better on the Sony body with non-native lenses. The eye autofocus for both animals and humans are excellent. Since the EF Canon line is no longer being made, I suggest you pick up one of these Sigma adapters before they're sold out.

Works well.

Mc-11 is well worth the money

I came from canon and went Sony and anyone who changes between brands knows that rebuilding your lens collection is really the hardest part. Getting the mc-11 allowed me to keep my trusted Ef lenses by my side (one of which being the canon 24-70 f2.8 L ii) which is an amazing lens. I've had no issues with the mount since I've gotten it. And would highly recommend it to anyone in the same similar situation I found myself in. I know it says sigma specific lenses but if anyone's concerned by that I just want to state I've used it with canon, sigma, rokinon with no issue. The only downside to this is that it won't work with the ef-s specific lenses.

AF does not work at all

I purchased this in the hope that I could viably use some of my Canon EF lenses with the Sony FX 30. Unfortunately the AF did not work at all. For me it was unusable. And I could not see any way I could receive a firmware correction to make the AF work. If they're all like this this product should be updated.

Is there any magnification when using the MC-11, a Sony A7III (full frame), and a Canon EF 100m f2.8 IS USM L in the macro mode? Thanks!
Asked by: Charles
Nope. And you will need to turn off the IS on the lens otherwise it won't work on the Sony.

Very specific question. If you don’t know, don’t answer “I don’t know”, just don’t respond. Will this work in being able to adjust the aperture of my Zeiss 50mm 1.4 ZE lens when using on the NEW Sony A7rIV camera. I know it will work on the older models but I need to know if there needs to be a firmware update for this adapter for it to work properly on the newest Sony alpha cameras as of December 2019
Asked by: James
YEs if you use the Sigma MC-11 EF to E mount adapter with the Zeiss 50mm F1.4 you will be able to adjust your aperture.

Using an "incompatible" canon 70-200 (old model) on my a7, I hear a scratch kinda noise when the camera is turned on/off or woken up - am I breaking my lens?
Asked by: Tom
Is it a Canon FD or EF lens? Also, it should function properly and all should be fine, so if anything it is more than likely an issue with the lens itself.

Is it safe to assume that lens compatibility refers to the use of auto-focus? Do all manual fixed lenses work? Like Rokinins and such?
Asked by: Eric
Yes, manual fixed lenses will work with this converter, as long as it has an EF mount. I even use a classic Nikon lens with an EF mount adapter and it attaches smoothly to the MC-11.
