I had a 60-600 Sigma lens laying around for EF and I had adapted it for my Sigma Fp L mount. I hadn't used it in a couple of years and decided I wanted to try it out with my new Sony A7 IV so I ordered this adapter. When I initially tried it, most of the camera features didn't work, like auto focus and other information pass throughs. Then i remembered the chemical screwdriver everyone should always have at home or in their bag. Contact spray/head cleaner. I zapped the contacts on the adapter side (camera side) of the 60-600 lens with contact spray and tried it again. Everything worked perfectly and fast. It makes the lens work as well as I imagine a native E mount lens would work. Had I not used the contact spray on the contacts of the lens, I would have had to send it away for weeks and for hundreds of dollars. So in other words, the adapter is great. But if you haven't used the lens, or any device for a while that has sensitive low voltage contacts on it, remember to give it a short zap of contact spray and try again.

Reviews were wrong.

I read several reviews that said that the MC-11 actually worked with the Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro and the Sony A6000. Mine did not. Auto focus didn't work at all and looking through the viewfinder was wild fun house ride of zooming in and out. It did however work on manual. Had to send it back. It was very well built.

Allowed me to reuse my canon EF lenses with FX3

Allowed me to reuse my canon EF lenses with Sony FX3. Works great for many lenses but not for wide ones. My beloved 18mm-35mm - F/1.8 did NOT work and I had to buy 2 more sigma lenses to replace it.

Doesn't magically make everything work - most noticeably I *can't* use my amazing Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens, but all the other Canon EF-mount lenses worked great!

Works reasonably well with A6400

I love this thing. I can use lenses that are far better and cheaper than what's available in E-mount for my A6400. AF is pretty reliable with the Tokina 11-20 f2.8 XTI, although I've never had the chance or need to test it on fast moving subjects. AF works reasonably well with my old Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS if I first manually focus to withing about 90-95% (easy), from there AF usually locks on and guarantees sharp results. On the A6000 however, the 70-200 f2.8 IS is erratic and is pretty much manual focus. Haven't tried the A6000 with the Tokina yet. BTW I purchased this adapter when it first came out and I'm still using old firmware with it. I've heard that more recent firmware updates may have some compatibility issues with Canon brand lenses, although I have no personal experience with that.

Sigma 24-70 EF for FX6

I specifically wanted to connect my EF version of the Sigma 24-70 because I want to maintain the lens stabilization. The E-mount version does not have OS. Happy to say that stabilization and autofocus work great.

Is there any magnification when using the MC-11, a Sony A7III (full frame), and a Canon EF 100m f2.8 IS USM L in the macro mode? Thanks!
Asked by: Charles
Nope. And you will need to turn off the IS on the lens otherwise it won't work on the Sony.

Very specific question. If you don’t know, don’t answer “I don’t know”, just don’t respond. Will this work in being able to adjust the aperture of my Zeiss 50mm 1.4 ZE lens when using on the NEW Sony A7rIV camera. I know it will work on the older models but I need to know if there needs to be a firmware update for this adapter for it to work properly on the newest Sony alpha cameras as of December 2019
Asked by: James
YEs if you use the Sigma MC-11 EF to E mount adapter with the Zeiss 50mm F1.4 you will be able to adjust your aperture.

Using an "incompatible" canon 70-200 (old model) on my a7, I hear a scratch kinda noise when the camera is turned on/off or woken up - am I breaking my lens?
Asked by: Tom
Is it a Canon FD or EF lens? Also, it should function properly and all should be fine, so if anything it is more than likely an issue with the lens itself.

Is it safe to assume that lens compatibility refers to the use of auto-focus? Do all manual fixed lenses work? Like Rokinins and such?
Asked by: Eric
Yes, manual fixed lenses will work with this converter, as long as it has an EF mount. I even use a classic Nikon lens with an EF mount adapter and it attaches smoothly to the MC-11.
