    Glidecam XR-PRO reviews

XR-PRO Handheld Camera Stabilizer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible value but takes some time to get used to This seems like a great stabilizer so far. I've only used it a few times but it works as expected creating smooth walking or running shots that is a great improvement over the shoulder rig I was using. Because it's a very stripped down stabilizer that lacks the fine tuning features of the other Glidecam products, it is pretty time consuming to stabilize the first time. I would definitely recommend using a light stand (or something similar) to rest the rig on while stabilizing. I added a quick release plate with bubble levels which also greatly helps. It takes a good bit of practice to use well, but that's all stabilizers. For the price, an incredible stabilizer. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent stabilizer on a budget. I got this because my Ronin-M has to be sent back for service. Why? Because some water splashed on one of the gimbal motors. Yes, I wasn't supposed to be filming at the beach, and thought I would be careful enough with it. Anyhow, while the Ronin flies to Germany or China for DJI repair, I needed something in the meantime and saw the new XR-PRO. For less than the cost of a new gimbal motor, I could have a stable rig for my GH4 + 12-40 f/2.8 + RODE mic. Not bad. I got it, and after watching a few YouTube videos on how to stabilize it - it is an absolute peach to work with. So much easier to work with than the Ronin - and I have far more control over the look of a shot than the Ronin. It also is easier to cart around without needing an assistant to bring the Ronin stand for me everywhere I needed to set down the Ronin. It also is at a more natural height for shots, and allows me to see the monitor on my GH4 naturally without needing a remote monitor feed like I do on my Ronin. So far, very much enjoying the Glidecam and recommend it - particularly at this price point!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick to learn and does the job for basic video production This is all you could ask for, for an under $400 stabilization option. I used it with my 5dMK III and Canon 17mm lens to film real-estate and a few shots on a short film. It was very fast to learn with a few tutorials from YouTube - takes about a week practice to fully get comfortable with it and to be able to do more complex movements. Once you get the hang of it, balancing and setting up the system takes under 5 mins. I even built it in my car and used it on a documentary shoot- I never thought I would be able to do that with something this cheap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Price and Build Quality A+ If you're a budget filmmaker and want to take your game to the next level, this is definitely a great tool to add to your arsenal. But if you are an event videographer and are expecting to withstand a 1+ hour event using this thing, then think again! In other words, I recommend this if you have some time to plan out your shots, and you don't plan to use this continuously, because 1) it's impossible to use without practice and 2) it get's heavy after holding it for 5 minutes. It's a sweetrig once you get it going though, so it's worth a shot for the great low price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy for beginner I decided to get the less expensive model as this is the firs glidecam I've ever used. The setup was easy. Balancing it can be a bit fickle to get it "just right", but it's worth the time and there are many YouTube videos that are helpful. Other than that funny looking "crouched walk" I'm now doing to get the footage (kidding), all good. If you're looking for a beginner glidecam, I recommend this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, one drawback. Really good stabilizer, however I wish you could adjust the height of the gimbal/handle to make it easier to use upside down for those low shots. Might be exchanging it to get a different stabilizer that has an adjustable gimbal... otherwise it's perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is worth the money! I bought this item for shooting videos for school and so far it has worked out great! I have no complaints about this product except for the mount. I think that the mount could be more efficient because if I ever wanted to change camera mid way through shooting, it would take some time... Otherwise this product is amazing for stabilizing your videos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This is great very versatile. I have my DSLR that I can use with it and I just ordered an attachment so I can film in slow mo with my iPhone 7plus.
