I Love/Loved My Monitor, Gorgeous Picture, easy to use but it is dying/or has died on me. The Monitor doesn't want to come on but soon as I take it to a repair shop it comes on. It let me down last shoot so I'm moody. I will buy another one if I have to, that's how much I like it but if I can get it fixed w/o shipping it to Hong Kong I would be much happier

Excellent field monitor...but be sure to buy batteries

The only negative thing to say is that it does not come with batteries or a charger, though the item page tells you this at the bottom of the description. You need Sony NP-F batteries, the largest and heaviest of which is the NP-F970; I have the lower-capacity and smaller NP-F570 batteries which worked great and have lasted throughout all of my tests so far. With that one caveat out of the way, I can honestly say that everything I've done with this field monitor so far has been quite satisfactory. You will want to make sure you know which HDMI cable you need; there are three HDMI connector sizes out there and while this comes with a mini-HDMI to HDMI, I have several devices that require micro-HDMI and had to use one of my existing cables. The screen audio is all the way up when you first turn it on; this is fine if you want to plug headphones into it but you really need to turn the volume down to 0% immediately on the first use. The provided ball mount is of acceptable quality and the sun shade does its job reasonably well. The focus assist feature is extremely useful and has saved me a decent bit of time. A clamp with a double ball arm can be used to attach this to tripod legs for working with cameras on super tall tripods which is one of my use cases. If you get a camera with a non-articulating screen, this thing can be a real life saver. Though you can spend thousands on field monitors if you really want to, this is a massive value for the budget filmmaker that I'd highly recommend.

I did not know what to expect. Now that I have worked with it I believe it is a good value. For the money the screen has great picture - and a lot of pro features.

So far, so good!

Used it the day after we received it for a job, and fortunately we have a sack full of Sony batteries. But why does in not come with an AC adapter/power supply? It's not fun trying to change a battery while the camera is recording and trying to keep the camera from moving. Otherwise...the monitor itself is great!

I am the admin for the a/v team at our church. Some of my techs have mentioned the small screen on the camera, so I started looking for an alternative. I bought this and mounted it to the flash shoe, and it is great!!!

Poor quality, terrible warranty support by B&H

Simply put do not buy this. The build quality is terrible. The unit is flimsy, and the HDMI connection is very weak/wobbly. It failed on my new unit after using it 5 times. Then having to deal with B&H warranty was a horrible experience. I emailed, they said I had to contact the manufacturer, they gave me an email and phone number for China. I live in Canada. I emailed the company in China. No response. Emailed B&H, this time they actually look up who handles warranty for this product which is a company in Texas. http://www.texastr.com/ I dealt with Mark. Mark was helpful and they are finally shipping mew a refurbished unit. But, by the time I get it back, there will be only a handful of weeks left on the original warranty, despite the product being broken/being replaced for months. I have since stopped shopping at B&H and will go with Henry's. They provide direct customer service, call them up and one of the sales guys will become your personal shopping connection. You get better service and better prices that way. Plus they have an enhanced warranty service that you pay a little more for. But it adds years of no hassle of warranty replacement.

question

This monitor looks identical to the Avtec XHD070. The only difference I see is the price and Avtec comes with battery plates. First, I'm I correct and secondly, if I go with this one, does B&H sell the battery plates?
Asked by: Desmond S.
The differences we find is the Avtec not only comes with the three plates, it also comes with a power adapter with 4 international plugs. Unfortunately, we do not have the plates for the FeelWorld FW759 7 listed as for sale.

Between the Nikon 7500 and this monitor you will need https://bhpho.to/2DP3N16 to send video signal and one is included in the FeelWorld kit, but no other tethering cables are provided.

question

Im trying to use this with a Canon C200. It works if I set my recording to 1080p 60fps, but the monitor goes blank if I set it to 1080p 23.976 fps or 29.97 fps even though the documentation says it should work. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this to work?
Asked by: Michael K.
When on board monitors go blank, it is because the camera or the monitor is set to a different speed. Make sure both devices are set to the same speed.

question

I can get a great HDMI image from my GH4, whether in 1080 Hd or 4K, but once I press the record button, I get the spinning egg-timer and the message please wait . I have tried everything - I a pretty certain that all the settings are correct as the image is perfect, but just can't record to the SD card. I actually bought it because Tomas left a review saying it works great with his GH4. Just what do I need to do to get it to monitor my recording on my GH4?
Asked by: David N.
I would say that the issue lies with the camera output setting. Got to MENU>Motion Picture>HDMI Rec Output. I think the problem is you need to set the HDMI Rec Output to Bit Mode 4:2:2 8bit. If you are shooting in 4K, go to 4K down Convert AUTO. Make sure the monitor is also set for the camera's output.
