The blue Sony NW-WS413 Sports Walkman Digital Music Player is designed for active users. This headset features a unique ergonomic design that fits comfortably around your head and frees you from being tethered to another media player. It's equipped with 4GB of internal flash memory and supports MP3, WMA, AAC-LC, and L-PCM audio files, so you'll have plenty of music to score your workout. To accommodate all active users, the NW-WS413 was designed to be water and dustproof, and to operate in extreme temperatures. Supporting its waterproof design, the NW-WS413 comes with a set of swimming earbuds you can use when you're in the pool.

The Walkman's built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 12 hours of continuous audio playback on only 90 minutes of charge. Plus, it supports drag-and-drop media file transfers from compatible Mac or Windows computers. A USB cable for data transfer and charging is included.

Ergonomic Design
The compact design of the NW-WS413 provides a secure, comfortable, head-hugging fit, ensuring your Walkman stays in place no matter what.
Ambient Sound Mode
With Ambient Sound Mode you can still hear a degree of external sound so you can talk to a friend or trainer while still enjoying your music.
Two Sets of Earbuds
The NW-WS413 comes with two sets of earbuds: a standard pair and another designed for swimming, which features a thin film over the hole to prevent water from entering the headset.
Waterproof Even in Salt Water

    Sony NW-WS413 reviews

4GB NW-WS413 Sports Walkman Digital Music Player (Blue) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DANGEROUS PRODUCT***** The Instructions Manual says : The earbuds seal your ears, therefore be aware that there is a risk of damage on your ears or eardrums if strong pressure is applied to the earbuds or the earbuds are suddenly removed from your ears. After use, be sure to take the earbuds off gently. due to this risk, not not do vigorous exercise, dive into a swimming pool, etc while wearing your Walkman I used them one for gym workout, nothing vigorous, and I was in ear pain for several days, I felt my ears so sore... there is no gently way to remove the headphones, even if you do it slowly it hurts. I really consider this product very dangerous, and just to listen music it doesn't worth ear damage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improvement over prior model The NW-WS413 is an improvement over the prior model NWZ-W273. All buttons are easier to press and give more tactile response. The docking contacts on the headphones are raised so they make a better connection to the docking station, which was sometimes a problem with the prior model. It also seems that the maximum volume is a bit louder, which helps me better hear podcasts while swimming. There are a couple of additional functions that I don't use, but otherwise not much of a change. It would be nice to have more memory (at a reasonable price) and the ability to fast forward or rewind within a song or podcast. Overall though, I find these to be the best waterproof swimming headphones currently available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised After disappointing experiences with a variety Bluetooth earbuds I was impressed with how well the Sony Walkman works both in and out of the water. It has made running and swimming enjoyable again. Robust construction and a good fit. Stays snug while exercising and sound quality isn't muffled or compromised while swimming. There are six buttons/controls but easy enough to figure out after one or two uses. I had to reread the instruction several times to absorb this, To prevent battery deterioration, charge the battery at least once every six months or every year. Huh? What? No more daily charging? Can this possibly be true - six months? Hallelujah! The only CON at the moment is the SHUFFLE setting doesn't seem to shuffle thru all the music. I'm hearing repeats but maybe it just needs time... Anyway I'm very happy with this unit the four times I've used it both in and out of the pool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So cool for the pool This is an excellent device. Be sure to understand that when using the ear-bud covers that must be used when in water the sound will be muted significantly. It does come with ear-bud covers that allow the full amount of sound to come through so it is also excellent for other activities on dry land. It has made going to the pool much more enjoyable. Don't forget to read the care instructions thoroughly because it requires specific actions to prevent permanent damage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised I've taken it swimming and to the gym. It's great for about an hour or so, then it starts getting uncomfortable. But that might be because i'm wearing them too tight. I have only had them for 2 weeks now. The other flaw is that it's not loud enough in water. The scenraio is, laps of breaststroke, when you exhale in water, the bubbles are louder than whatever you're listening too. You can hear fine if you submerge and swim while exhaling super slowly or just holding your breath. But if you're doing laps and you exhale you're not going to hear a thing. There might be IPX7 or higher earbuds that might be able to reduce noise, but i haven't found any yet. If i can I'd give these 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for running. Haven't tested swimming. Works great for running. Right after putting them on, I could hear the headphones moving in the ears, distorting the sound somewhat. However, after about 20 minutes they either settled, or I got used to the phones, and the I had no problem listening to even podcasts over the next 10 runs. The controls are fine. Although I wish it were possible to rewind the current song -- especially important for podcasts. Also, the headphones' quality is better than I expected, and now I'm not sure anymore if the newer model with bluetooth wouldn't worth the price difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, better than older version Had the older version of the product, this one seams to fit better. Allows less water in the ears to muffle sound. Charger has improved also, and buttons are slightly larger and easier to use. A little difficult to figure out how to load music onto, but easy once you learn. There still needs to be a better way to figure out when its fully charged and better instruction manual.
