FUJIFILM X-Pro2 Overview

Bundling the advanced mirrorless body with a sleek lens, the FUJIFILM X-Pro2 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 35mm Lens Kit from B&H gets you up and running with a versatile camera body and a standard prime lens.

The X-Pro2 features a 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor and X-Processor Pro to afford a high degree of image quality along with the ability to shoot at up to 8 fps, record Full HD 1080p/60 video, and work at sensitivities up to ISO 51200. Using FUJIFILM's proprietary X-Trans technology, the sensor uses a randomized pixel array in order to avoid the use of a resolution-reducing optical low-pass filter, therefore producing imagery with the utmost in sharpness and clarity. The X-Pro2 is also most distinctly characterized by its unique Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder that blends both optical and electronic viewing methods into a single, switchable finder. A large 3.0" 1.62m-dot LCD monitor is also available as well as built-in Wi-Fi for wireless image sharing and remote camera control from linked mobile devices.

Included with the camera body is the XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens, which provides a 53mm equivalent focal length within a compact package. The optical design incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements, to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, and a Nano-GI coating has been applied to limit the appearance of lens flare and ghosting.

How is it for low light (night) street photography?
Asked by: Barb
The CMOS sensor on this camera is highly sensitive to light and will offer great quality in low light. I would also pair it with a wide 1.4 - 2.0 aperture lens for great images in low light.

Which is more worth it. getting this and getting used to how a rangefinder works. Or jumping in the deep end and investing in a Leica M?
Asked by: Bryon
Your the only one who can answer that question. Outside of the price diffference , how each camera preforms in your hand should be considered.

Is the Xpro 2 a rangefinder camera similar to the Leica M series?
Asked by: Bryon
The X-Pro2 is similar to a Leica M film camera in that the viewfinder window, shutter speed dial, and shutter release button are in the same relative position; so appearance-wise it mimics an M Leica; Leica M users gravitate to the X-Pro2 since in the hand it "feels like" an M Leica. Otherwise, they are entirely different cameras.

Which lenses would you recommend for XPro2. I tried some prime ones with adaptor and feel underwhelmed. Would you suggest 14 or 16 mm f2.8, as a single permanent fixture? Main interest street photography.
Asked by: Manojchandra
The Fujifilm XF 23mm 1.4 is the best for the street. It’s a great lens, very sharp, very fast, roughly equivalent to a 35mm lens on a 35mm film camera, works perfectly with the XPro 2 body. The XF 16mm 1.4 is also superb but very wide, not what you want for your only lens.

If I have a fuji XT 10, will I gain a lot more with this? Thanks.
Asked by: Manojchandra
The short answer is yes for me, but depending on what you really care, maybe. I don't have the XT10, but the XT1 (and a ton of Nikon gear). The X-Pro2 is a rangefinder so it feels different to begin with. The fact that it is much more engaging (to me at least) and the noticeably better AF are enough reasons to find myself in the field with it more often than any of other bodies. It is rugged, weather-sealed and solidly built to say the least.
