The Photographer's Formulary Kallitype Printing Kit provides an introduction the Kallitype photographic process.

Kallitype printing is similar to the Platinum/Palladium process in theory and technique. However, Kallitype printing uses a less expensive silver salt.

Although the outstanding permanence of Platinum and Palladium is not duplicated, good Kallitype prints have a Platinum-like quality.

Print color can be controlled by development. The prints may be toned with printing-out-paper toners, or Gold Protective (GP-1) toner.

With proper fixing and clearing, Kallitype prints have good permanence.

About 30 - 4 x 5" prints can be made using this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Beginners Kit Beginners should be really really pleased with this kit. It contains all the chemicals necessary and detailed instructions. Be sure and be prepared with your enlarged negatives and various papers so when you mix these chemicals you can get right to work since a few of the chemicals are only good for a short time. I really didn't know anything about this process and was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful results from my first try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tips This kit is a great introduction to the kallitype process but it may only wet your appetite for more control. I very much suggest using the arrowroot starch to size your paper. I chose not to size the paper, hoping for a more textural print but the emulsion mostly washed off the paper in the development bath. I am a big fan of Photographer's Formulary but the kallitype kit from Bostick & Sullivan is in my opinion better and gives you 100ml of sensitizer which will make more prints.
