Sonic Radar Pro
Modern games are more than graphics – precise audio positioning gives gamers a distinct edge over enemies. That's why Strix Soar includes Sonic Radar Pro, an ASUS exclusive technology that visualizes and enhances in-game sounds, giving you a vital edge in first-person shooters.

Fire up your favorite game and Sonic Radar Pro displays a ‘radar' HUD (heads-up display) that pinpoints in-game actions relative to your position, so you'll know exactly where you are on the battlefield and what's happening around you.

Multiple radar-enhancers can be enabled in order to visualize and boost specific sounds such as footsteps, gunshots, and call-outs. Sounds are plotted on the 360-degree HUD, even when there's no clear line of sight, so invisibility is no barrier to pinpointing opponents, giving you a distinct advantage over other players. Additionally, Sonic Radar's on-screen appearance and position is completely customizable, so you can arrange it just the way you want, with whatever game you want.

    ASUS STRIX SOAR reviews

Strix Soar 7.1 PCIe Sound Card is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expectations Exceeded For the price point this product wildly exceeded my expectations. The build reeks of quality and it's performance leaves it's little DX Sonar sister card, which was, by no stretch of the imagination, a slouch - in the dust. Matter of fact the Strix Soar 7.1 compares very favorably to it's big brother card, the Essence STX II 7.1, which is by two orders of magnitude more expensive, has a less sophisticated driver and delivers only marginally improved performance. That said, the value\performance proposition of the Strix Soar 7.1 card is undeniable and significantly superior to competing products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not recommend at all I typically love ASUS products but I gotta say this. Straight from the top, DO NOT waste your time or money on this card. I've had nothing but issues with it. From it randomly turning the audio output off but still transmitting audio via the mic but at a higher pitched frequency. To it pushing out audio through the headphones w/ a lot of garbled sound or audio static in the signal out that makes everything sound like trash, even on high end headsets from AKG and Sennheiser. I honestly don't think this is a hardware issue but a software issue. If I close out Sonic Suite(Studio) the issues are no longer present but I also am then unable to take full advantage of the features of this card. This is a huge let down as I like I said previously, I do genuinely love ASUS products. Not sure what happened here but purhaps now is the best time for you to look at hiring or contracting out someone to develop drivers for you. Sorry ASUS but until this gets fixed I can't, in good conscious, recommend this card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ASUS Strix Soar Sound Card I've included this sound card in a new computer I built for displaying a virtual reality environment in the new head sets being released in the next few months. I haven't had a chance to experience what the card will do in this new environment but my current experience with the cards capabilities is very positive. I'm pleased how much the sound quality has improved using the ASUS Strix sound card. I'm pleased with this purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good with Windows 10 I purchased this card hoping that it would work with Windows 10...what a bad decision! Recently bought an upgraded Alienware PC and the on-board Realtek just didn't impress. For some reason, I couldn't find the way to load the Realtek High Definition Program that would optimize the use of my 7.1 sound system. This ASUS Strix Soar 7.1 PCIe card was advertised as a good alternative to SoundBlaster. Well, it was a total let down! The card had issues with sound cutting for almost 3 years now (see internet threads on this issue) and it hasn't been fixed. It was a very annoying problem and I decided to swap this card with my old SoundBlaster XFI card from my old PC. Thanks goodness it worked for me (just needed to download the updated drivers for Windows 10). To my surprise, the ASUS card worked flawlessly with Windows 7 Pro! I wouldn't recommend this card unless you're still using Windows 7.
