Denon DN-312X overview

  • 1Description

The DN312X from Denon is a 1U rack-mounted 12-channel mixer with microphone priority, well suited for live performance, karaoke, bars, clubs, studios, and more. The mixer features 6 combo XLR-1/4" inputs that are switchable between Mic, Line and Phantom Power (PH), which allows for compatibility with condenser microphones. Channel-1 offers a variable mic priority knob, which at its lowest setting will mute all other microphone channel inputs entirely when a signal is present on Mic 1. The highest setting has no effect at all, while any setting in between works well for ducking music when making announcements.

Additional inputs include three stereo RCA connectors for channels 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12. Output connectors include two XLR main outputs, stereo RCA recording outputs, a 1/4" mic monitor output, and a 1/4" mono output. The front panel offers volume controls for channels 1 through 6 as well as stereo channels 7/8 to 11/12. Additionally, there are dedicated volume controls for Mic, Mono, and Master output. A master 3-band EQ offers cut/boost controls for high, mid, and low frequencies. The DN312X ships with a standard IEC power cord.

  • 6 HDHQ Combination inputs with MIC, Phantom and Line selector switches
  • 6 mono (3 stereo) RCA Inputs
  • Mic monitor 1/4” output for private listening to all mic inputs
  • Balanced XLR line outputs
  • Mono 1/4” line output can be used to feed audio to external recording device
  • AC or 24 VDC power inputs
  • Mic 1 Priority Control
  • Master and Individual level controls
  • 1U rack mountable

    Denon DN-312X reviews

    DN-312X 12-Channel Mixer w/ Mic Priority is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Audio bleeds. On paper this was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately any program coming in on a channel with the volume turned all the way down can still faintly be heard out of the master output. Not a problem if you're using it in a room with a loud HVAC system but in quiet rooms its noticeable. The three band EQ dials are reassessed too far back into the unit to turn them with your finger or a key, you need a small tool to reach them which is not helpful when going between microphones that need the lows cut and music that does not. This is more of a set it and forget it installation mixer and not so useful for events or situations with a mic and audio combined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value Excellent bang for the buck. Clean, reasonably quiet and a nice mix ( no pun intended ) of inputs. My only minor nit-pick is that the range of gain on the line level inputs is a bit limited. When using with a mobile device, which are notorious for being weak on output, I would recommend an auxiliary line-amp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for my needs As a legal videographer I do not need the most elaborate mixer in the world. I need something I can mix 4 to 6 mics into my professional cam, with next to no bleed over. I will tell you that this, the Denon mixer presented very Clean audio and the EQ is helpful. The frequencies are not very extreme. did not hear any bleed over as it's not extremely important to me. The audio from my camera was big and full and seemed 2 be compressed some what. Very satisfied, buying another one for my third rig. In the rack it's not very deep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major Audio Bleed and static Looked just like what I needed until we used it, big audio bleed and lots of static. This unit is going back to B&H asap.
