The Fantom 4TB G-Force3 USB 3.0 External Hard Drive features a USB 3.0 interface and a storage capacity of 4TB to provide additional digital storage space for your Windows and Mac systems. With the hi-speed USB 3.0 interface, the Fantom G-Force3 can deliver data to your system at a rate up to 5 Gb/s, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. In addition, this interface is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 connections so you can use the G-Force3 with more systems.

The hard drive comes preformatted in NTFS that is compatible with Windows systems and may require a reformat for Mac use. You can use the hard drive to store videos and files along with system backups from your computer. The G-Force3 features an aluminum enclosure and a fan-free design to help provide a near silent operation. Included along with the G-Force3 external hard drive are a USB 3.0 cable, a power cable, and a drive stand.

    4TB G-Force3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 External Hard Drive is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth installation flawless performance This is still a new install, but to date all has been going well. Simple hookup to Win7 computer copied (BU) approximately 3TB of data immediately after install and verified once completed. Set up for daily backup and there have no issues so far. It is virtually invisible (meaning no problems) and upon checking all data backed up is accessible. What more can you want for a BU drive?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid build and performance I use this product to backup a feature length documentary film project. It is fast with USB 3.0, and so far has functioned flawlessly. You are really paying for the enclosure, and its great build quality. It is quite, sturdy, great looking, and stands well on a desk. Also, its power switch is important to me. I don't like drives that don't have power switches. No cons at this time, functions as expected. Solidly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Hard Drive With Great Speed We purchased this hard drive as a backup solution. We needed to store some files in case our NAS and Server had some problems with their RAID arrays. This arrived promptly as most of our B&H purchases do. Setup was a snap. Plug it in turn it on and you are up and running. The hard drive speed is comparable to the internal 7200RPM in my computer, so no complaints there. The case is sleek and discreet looks very good on my desk. Definitely not an eyesore . I am very happy with my purchase so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far...still works. Other than windows 10 having some issues with this, it is all that is advertised. Win10 needed to reformat the drive..not too big of a deal. I have had this drive for about 2 problems so far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I would think twice about buying this product again I purchased the product from B&H Photo and would rate them as 5* BUT, the Fantom 4TB device is another issue. The product cam preformatted from Fantom, but it gave the message of requiring the drive to be formatted. Problem that I have with Fantom, is they do not have a live technical support staff available, and you have to submit a ticket which gets responded to withing two days. Finally got the device formatted in an 8 hour session, and updated my bios to accept the Windows 10 use for this product. After I got through the formatting and software update process, the hard drive works great, but I cannot believe that a company like Fantom who desires to be one of the big-boys in the hard drive business like Seagate and Western Digital does not have a technical support department available to assist customers with product issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good drive I like that these drives are fanless (i.e., quiet) and are enclosed in an aluminum case (i.e., somewhat more rugged). I've been buying Fantom drives for years and they have proven to be reliable. This time I bought two, and oddly one of them came marked as a model GF3B4000U, which is what I purchased, but it also has an eSATA port in addition to the USB 3.0 port, making it a mismarked model GF3B4000EU. Having the eSATA port is fine with me, and in fact I can use it so I'm glad to have it, but it does make me wonder how such an error could have been made --was it a production reject at the factory that was reworked and released back into the production stream, just the wrong stream? The serial numbers for the two units I received are three numbers apart. A curiosity but I guess I'll never know the answer. Bottom line: I'm happy with these drives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large capacity external hard drive great for photo storage Large capacity external hard drive is great for storing images for my photography business. Only down side is delicacy of these external hard drives. I lost 500mb of photo files when I tipped my last external storage over and I was unable to retrieve the files. Hopefully the technology has improved since my last external drive. As the users manual states-Back up, Back up, Back up to CD or DVD.
