    Brother MFC-L5900Dw reviews

MFC-L5900DW All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Meets My Needs I just replaced a 7-year-old Brother MFC-8480DN with a new Brother MFC-L5900DW, and I'm most pleased with its build and features (especially duplex scanning). I print mostly black-and-white text and line drawings, and I am very happy with this product's print quality. I rate the MFC-L5900DW itself with 5 stars. However, its 724-page User Guide is not available in a format that can be annotated with highlights and notes, and it's not searchable. Rather, it's available online and in a downloadable locked PDF. Since this is unacceptable to me, I lowered the MFC-L5900DW's rating by 1 star.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buggy drivers, weak wifi, defective customer service I'm just adding to my previous review that my initial toner cartridge lasted 1700 pages at 5% coverage, instead of 3000. When I complained to Brother, they insisted that I was doing something wrong (like, printing, for example). They refused to replace the defective toner cartridge. In addition, I was never able to resolve my Twain driver issues with Adobe Acrobat. Brother drivers are usually buggy, but there is usually a workaround if you are willing to use customer service and spend some serious setup time. I was not able to resolve the issues to my satisfaction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Toner problem The printed page displays what I would describe as a dusting of toner - light flecks of toner, more noticeable at the top of the page. Brother tech said it was a bad toner ctg - the one that came with the machine. An abundance of caution required I return the first machine and bought the same model as a replacement. It took Brother a week + to deliver a replacement ctg. The second Brother arrived and I installed the replacement ctg - same problem with the toner sprinkles. Back to B & H it goes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a pleasure. I have a similar older color model that continues to serve me well. I went with black and white only because I was purchasing it for someone else. This MFC is fast and surprisingly quiet. The display is intuitively simple, easy to read, and pretty straightforward. No real cons. If there was one, perhaps it would be to design easier access to printed pages. Nevertheless, access is not so deficient that one cannot get used to it. Overall, I give it a five based on the fact I have a good working older color model, and that, so far, this black and white has been performing equally as well or better. Once in a while, as with anything, a person might get one with a problem. In that case, let the people at B&H know what is happening, I think you will find them to be a pleasure to do business with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Pleased Difficult to setup. Still not right...stuff like only printing attachments from Chrome and not Explorer...2-sided printing not enabled on one of the computers on the network...slow (it will print 4-5 pages, rest, and then continue)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good machine, great price, exactly what I hoped it would be. I was a little leary about ordering from B and H as they are in NY and I am in CA. The machine arrived with no damage, was a new machine - no bait and switch and arrived in the time frame the quoted. Super easy, super fast to get my machine. Will order again from B and H!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for small office I use the printer for notary work, and really needed a printer for printing both legal and regular size paper. The fact the printer will duplex BOTH printing and scanning is a bonus

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would highly recommend this MFC to anyone I love this MFC. It has a large capacity paper tray and prints double as fast as any MFC I've owned till now. It has a neat, relatively compact design and is easy to use.
