This is an excellent product with high quality machined parts, I believe is compatible, however the rear screen would need to remain in the home position! After I bought this I went on a Trip to Spain and the results were great, after a little practice.

This gimbal is designed for DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras, it will have a very hard time balancing a camcorder the size of the XF400. We do not recommend it.
