It can also be used with an FTP server or printer, so any devices on your network can print over your Wi-Fi.

Smart iQ Setup

This Edimax router features iQ Setup for smart, automatic and quick installation with no CD required, no smartphone app to download, and no PC required.

Edimax iQoS

iQoS is Edimax's solution for a quicker, easier, and more effective way to manage Internet bandwidth. While Quality of Service (QoS) functionality is a common feature in routers across the market, typically only advanced users have the knowledge required to set up the complex parameters. Edimax though has redesigned QoS with user-friendliness and accessibility in mind. A simple and intuitive user interface allows users to arrange bandwidth priority settings in just a few clicks. With iQoS, you can enjoy gaming, video streaming, VoIP applications and BT clients at the same time without the usual nightmare of lag and interruptions. An original, efficient and effective means of managing your Internet bandwidth.

Multi-SSID & VLAN Support

Multi-SSID enables users to configure up to ten separate SSIDs (2.4 GHz x 5 and 5 GHz x 5) in order to group and manage users according to your requirements. In addition, each SSID can be assigned a different VLAN ID, so users with multiple VLANs can manage the network access level of each SSID - ensuring security and protecting confidential or critical network resources.

We use several of these in various sites to create an isolated, secure network in libraries & other public venues. They work fantastic for us for this application and I use these almost exclusively now for our non-profit.

I needed a WISP router and this router was suggested. I bought it and spent a lot of time trying to get it to connect. After researching on the internet I finally emailed the company. They replied within 24 hours that the current firmware was a known problem and to download either a beta version or old version. I did and I am quite satisfied with the support and the router. I would have given it 5 stars if I did not have to call support for help on a known but not published issue.

Works fine, but anyone wanting to set up BR-6478AC V2 router in WISP mode when needing a password to connect to another router or access point needs to install earlier firmware version v1.11 or newer beta version V1.13a

This router was purchased because it addressed and had the firmware update for the Krack virus issue.  It was also very easy to setup and should meet our security issues.

EDIMAX Router Works Great and is EASY to Set Up!

This was my first purchase of an EdiMax router. B&H shipped it promptly and it arrived on-time and in good condition. I bought this model, based on recommendations by our Technical Administration and other Tech Coordinators. It's being used in a senior center environment as a private add-on to their in-house WiFi. It was easy to set up and had very versatile options. Coverage throughout the building is very strong and it's been working great. Good choice if you want it right. WGB, Tech Coord.

Although there is no wireless client limitation documented for this product, buy it is suggested that if you have more than 30 wireless devices, you may need to consider semi-prograde product which is for office use. BTW Edimax does monitor security threat. For example, firmware v1.13 released on Feb 2020 for Krack attack.

Hi how can I access the Hard drive connected to my Edina’s router REMOTELY ?
Asked by: Karim Bey
From what I'm seeing in the documentation, the only way to access storage connected to the router (i.e. plugged into the USB port) REMOTELY, is to set it up to allow for external FTP. This would require that you always know what the external IP address of the router is, which normally isn't a static (unchanging) address so might be difficult to do what you are trying to do unless you had a way to know the IP up front, and understood how to use FTP.
