Hardware-wise, this card features 8GB of GDDR5 vRAM coupled to the 2560 stream processors with a wide 512-bit interface for 4.2 TFLOPS of single-precision computation performance and 1/2 rate double-precision performance at 2.1 TFLOPS. This power grants the capability to work with multiple 4K video streams, and accelerate applications to take parallel processing loads off of your CPU.
The output panel of this card features four DisplayPort 1.2 terminal. Each DisplayPort output is capable of driving a 4K display, helpful when spreading a workflow over multiple monitors for increased productivity. With separately available adapters, the DisplayPort terminals can support legacy and alternative output standards such as HDMI, DVI, and VGA.
To keep this card cool, AMD implemented a blower-style cooler. By using a radial fan, this system forces air over the components and exhausts it outside the case. This cooling method is ideal for configurations involving tight spacing between components as it doesn't recirculate hot air back into the case.

The FirePro W8100 is optimized for a double-precision performance and unlike many competing cards, can compute double-precision tasks at only half the rate of single-precision tasks.
AMD Eyefinity Multi-Display Technology
With discrete connectivity for four 4K displays via DisplayPort 1.2 and AMD Eyefinity technology, the AMD FirePro W8100 is an optimal solution for high-resolution and ultra-high-resolution workflows. AMD Eyefinity technology supports up to six DisplayPort monitors on an enabled graphics card. AMD Eyefinity technology requires 4K displays and content; performance dependent on file size. To enable more than two displays, or multiple displays from a single output, additional hardware such as DisplayPort-ready monitors or DisplayPort 1.2 MST-enabled hubs may be required. A maximum of two active adapters is recommended for consumer systems.

DirectGMA and SDI Support

AMD HD3D Pro Support
AMD HD3D is a technology designed to enable stereoscopic 3D support in software applications such as Computer Aided Design and Digital Content Creation. The FirePro 8100 has a 3-pin mini DIN for HD3D syncing with other devices.
