Doubles zoom

Doubles zoom and images are sharp. It's a bit tight getting my 55-250 lens on. Shutter speed is quartered to get the same brightness due to the nature of teleconverters. Autofocus won't focus in the viewfinder, as mentioned in the description, but can usually get a good focus in live shooting mode. Some people complained about image sharpness, my guess is they aren't getting the focus right, or are having trouble with motion blur due to a slower shutter and the lens being zoomed in further. Using the live shooting mode zoomed in to 10x works really well for judging the manual focus. Can get super close to subjects for a low price. I can even get small butterflies to fill the whole frame when using my 55-250 with the teleconverter.

question

Is this for canon rebel T3/1100D
Asked by: Angie O.
Yes, the FotodioX Autofocus 2x Teleconverter for Canon EF/EF-S may be used on the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T3 DSLR camera. Do note that, depending on the maximum aperture of the lens you intend to use on the above teleconverter, you may have to focus the lens manually if the lens has a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or smaller.

question

Will this lens work with a Canon EF-S 55-250 zoom?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, you may use the Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 EF IS lens together with the Fotodiox AF 2x Teleconverter for Canon EF/EF-S Lenses. However, do note that, due to the f/4-5.6 aperture range of the 55-250mm lens, when using the Fotodiox teleconverter, you would have to focus the lens manually. Autofocus would not be compatible for use with this setup.

The FotodioX Autofocus 2x Teleconverter for Canon EF will fit your camera and lens and double the focal length. However, you will need to focus the lens manually due to the loss in aperture.

Will this work on a Canon EOS 90D with a 18-135 ...

Will this work on a Canon EOS 90D with a 18-135 is USM lens?
Asked by: Robert
Again, I have this same lens and struggle with this answer. So I must dive deeper with you guys. To my understanding, at 135mm the usual max opening or size f-stop of 5.6 is effectively reduced by two stops effectively limiting the f-stop to the equivalent of f11. As such to adjust for the loss of 2 stops worth of light, I would increase the length of my shutter speed by the same two stops. Why would this impact the ability of of the lens to perform an autofocus. F11 stop is not extreme by any means (certainly not like using a 6 or 10 stop ND filter, where autofocus would definitely be affected). So why do you believe autofocus would be in question by this example? I want to purchase such a converter, but not sure I am willing to lose autofocus in the process. Please help me understand you explanation better. Thanks
