The 1TB Re Datacenter 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal HDD from WD delivers durable capacity storage for high-availability deployments. With an error tolerance of <1 in 1015, an MTBF of 2 million hours, an AFR of 0.44%, and 600,000 load/unload cycles, it helps provide durability and 24x7x365 reliability in tightly packed vibration prone multi-drive systems. In addition to its performance and robust design, its capacity of 1TB makes this drive well suited for heavy workload environments, cloud storage, RAID arrays, external storage arrays, date warehousing, and mining applications.

This WD Re Datacenter drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 128MB cache, and a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, all of which help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a sustained rate of up to 184 MB/s. It is also equipped with vibration protection, Dual Actuator technology, StableTrac technology, a multi-axis shock sensor, TLER technology, NoTouch Ramp Load technology, dynamic fly height technology, and dual processors. To further help ensure reliable operations, a thermal extended burn-in test is performed.

Dual Actuator Technology
Dual Actuator Technology is a head positioning system with two actuators that helps improve positional accuracy over the data track(s). The primary actuator provides coarse displacement using conventional electromagnetic actuator principles, while the secondary actuator uses piezoelectric motion to fine tune the head positioning to a higher degree of accuracy (2 TB and above)

Self Encrypting Drive (SED) Option
The SED option provides a secure model for encrypting drives. Utilizing an AES 256-bit encryption engine for Crypto erase capability, WD supports both industry standard commands of the Sanitize Feature Set and also the Security Feature Set which utilizes the Secure Erase Unit (SEU) enhanced mode bit. Please bear in mind that SED drives may require TCG-compliant host or controller support. SED drives may not be available in all countries
Multi-Axis Shock Sensor
The multi-axis shock sensor automatically detects subtle shock events and compensates to help protect data
RAID-Specific, Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER)
