BrickHouse Security 228-DHC overview

  • 1Description

With its square digital alarm clock housing, the 2MP Wi-Fi Hidden Camera from BrickHouse Security allows you to covertly monitor your home or office environment. The camera features 1920 x 1080 resolution at either 60 or 30 fps for high-definition video in real time, and it can also take still photographs at a resolution of 4032 x 3024. A 90° field of view enables you to capture a wide coverage area, and IR LEDs provide night vision for using the alarm clock camera in dark rooms. An SD card slot supports up to 32GB of storage for edge recording, and H.264 compression maximizes storage and bandwidth.

Recording modes include continuous recording and recording based on motion detection. When recording based on motion, you will receive push notifications to your smartphone or tablet, alerting you to unexpected movement in front of the camera's lens. The device features Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to view video from an iOS or Android mobile device. Additionally, VLC player and SM player software is supported for viewing footage on a computer. An AC power cord provides the covert camera with constant power, and the package includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery in case the power cord is disconnected. The battery can last for approximately 3 hours at a time and takes about 5-6 hours to charge.

    BrickHouse Security 228-DHC reviews

Digital Clock with 2MP Wi-Fi Hidden Camera (Square) is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems with connection I have had problems with camera connecting to the Apple Time Capsule router through iPhone 6. I have managed I have returned the camera since. I have not been able to get sufficient information from the user manual or by contacting Brickhouse. Product box does not even have any Brickhouse branding on the camera or box. It seems that the product is sold under other brands such as Aishine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing First of all, the on/off button did not seem to make a difference. It was on all the time. The battery did not fit snugly into the back and it would lose connection when charging. There was no instruction manual, but I downloaded it from the internet. I then downloaded the third party software for my smartphone and computer, as instructed. I also used a USB connector (included) to connect it to my computer port. In theory, the clock, once the battery was charged, could be read by the software, a connection established, and setup accomplished. Neither the computer nor the phone could locate the camera. It was like trying to read a rock. I reset it, read all the troubleshooting notes, and gave up after a couple of hours. It's going back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality Useless ripoff. Very surprised B&H would sell such crud. No picture unless in VERY bright light. IR does not work. This is the second one I tried, both useless ripoffs. Shame on B&H for such dishonesty.
